@mikey07 Moorby is the find of the season for the Canes. Love will be grinding his teeth on the sideline with both his competitors for the 10 and 15 (22/23) jerseys playing well.

It’s a good thing though, competition only brings out the best in players.

In terms of playmaking ability Morgan just seems to control things better at 10 than Love. He looks like a natural general.

@Stargazer he and Sullivan for me, the latter could be a bolter for EOYT if he keeps his form up.

Having Moorby playing so well allows us to test the waters with J Barrett at 12 going forward.

Just watching both tries that Moorby scored , there are 2 different passes ..the first from Sullivan was short late drop off , and the 2nd saw the midfield defence hold on the inside shoulder allowing Sullivan to throw a pass to Moorby that got him on the outside of his marker ..
Nice from Sullivan especially if your wanting to impress for higher honours

@Steven-Harris yeah he’s got all the skills. A plus for the ABs is that he is very capable of playing on the wing aswell if needed.

@taniwharugby I'd love the Hawke's Bay Union to sign Bailyn Sullivan. A Toala-Sullivan midfield, with Fomai and Lowe on the wings sounds awesome. If Bailyn returns home, there'll also be more hope that Zarn will eventually come home, too.

@Canes4life a few people will think I am on drugs , but if the Canes can get some bodies back on the paddock and given they have got Owen Franks back to bolster the front row ranks ..they are not a side I would want to play in a QF or Semi Final

@Steven-Harris the Canes are full of talent and will be a dark horse through the play offs. A lot of young talent still finding their feet. Good signs for the future.

And hopefully play Zarn at 10!

@Crazy-Horse Only if Fakatava is in the ABs squad; if Fakatava plays for the Bay, I prefer his combo with McClutchie. The Toala-McClutchie combo works well, too.

By the way this Canes team looks so much better going forward without Blackwell and Prinsep.

Drua just can't hold the ball, possession must be over 85% for the Canes

With the tape around his head he reminds me of Mike Brewer for the Baby Blacks against France.

Remember seeing Laubscher a couple of years ago playing for the Turbos against Counties Manukau just before his injury, looked outstanding that day as well on 18 on debut

    Bio

A product of Palmerston North Boys’ High School, Tyler Laubscher signed to the Manawatū Academy in 2019, making the Under 19s squad and debuting against Bay of Plenty.

The South African-born loose forward impressed to earn a Turbos debut in the final round of the season – a win at home against Counties Manukau.

Comfortable at both blindside flanker and No 8 with his 1.94m, 104kg frame, Laubscher’s game is built on that physicality which is part of the DNA of South African footy players. He is a powerful asset in and around the ruck, and over the ball.

    @Stargazer feels like more...

Isn't it good seeing players taking the ball at pace, too often we are getting players taking it passively well behind the gainline.

    That was for both halves.
This is for first & second half:
