Mody Maor's comments at HT were great. He didn't care about scoring 65 pts but was pissed about giving up 47.

    He knows defence wins championships

We got sloppy at the end of the 1st half and let them score about 8-10 points far too easily.

Was a good win though and great to see us get a good scoring game too. Brantley was massive and basically unguardable on the post.

fun night at the COnvention Centre last night as the Taipans leave it late to force overtime, then defend like champs to win it over the Kings

We live and die by the 3. Our scoring is Pinder inside or a 3-pointer. Last night Pinder was cooking, bet everyone they put on him, but the 3 was ice cold (at one point we got to 5 from 33 i think it was). So they doubled the fuck out of Pinder and our scoring stopped. We need to find more ways to get to the basket.

Xavier Cooks is really fucking good. Him fouling out in the 4th was probably the difference.

7-4 is a good spot to be in considering we have played Sydney and NZ so often. When do we get to play the shit teams? (Taipans history says we will lose to the shit teams)

Was a great game to watch.

Pinder was dominant. Got to the foul line 20 times. He’s never been a great FT shooter so finishing with 70% was damn good when attempting so many.

It became a real shootout in that 4th and agree Cooks fouling out was big and took away Sydney’s pick and roll option. Cooks just has time when he’s got the ball and whilst his 3pt shot is not yet a weapon, he does everything else at a very high level.

Nice to see DJ Hogg hit a couple of huge buckets, but Sydney didn’t play those high pick and rolls very well. Hunter was far too deep and should’ve been up to make DJ drive.

McCall was heaps better than the Breakers game, but he’s still a strange player in the Ford gameplan.

    agreed, BUT

he gets to the hole. And he isn't afraid to stick his hand in and try for steals.

Another win for the Breakers over the Phoenix. Everyone was getting in on the scoring.

The schedule is really lopsided as this was the third and last time the Breakers play the Phoenix this season, before they've even played Perth.

What a win. I was a little worried about this game because the Phoenix usually can put on points. But man we were lights out. 10 3s in the first half was awesome.

Brown is so deceptive with his little rock back dribble and pull up. Phoenix defence had no answer.

They really overplayed out pick and roll game (which is the best in the league) so it opened up layups for our guards.

Breakers were cruising against Perth in the first quarter. But the wildcats have really picked up on defence and offensive explosions from Corey Webster and Cotton have the cats up 7. Getting ugly

Our bogey team, plus C Webb remembers how to shoot, just had to do it against us!

Corey hasn’t had a great season at all, but man that little run of 10 straight points and then Manek hitting 3 or 4 straight 3s.

We shut down Cotton but our offence went stagnant and we resorted to jacking it.

They basically did to us what we've been doing to everyone else. And Brown Jr didn't have a great game, resorted to one on one instead of trying to drive and pass

I didn't see the first Breakers-Kings game but the Breakers really struggled with the length of the Kings bigs inside tonight. Although they made another 4th Q run they need to hit more threes to win this matchup. The preferential treatment of the Kings by the refs doesn't help.

Game 1 they shot poorly in q1 and dug themselves a hole. They roared back lage but got pipped at the post

@Bovidae sheesh we couldn’t buy a call last night, especially Pardon who probably missed out on three And-1’s.

But Sydney are very good. Cooks on track to win MVP, Soares has excellent footwork and soft touch around the rim, DJ spreads the defence even if he’s having an off night, Walton Jnr came out fired up after a sub-par game last time we met them.

We needed a bit more out of a couple of players, but we were right there after turning up our defence in the 4th quarter.

We are better on the road

@ACT-Crusader Yeah, Brantley was poor, and was forcing up low percentage shots. The Breakers made runs but then went cold for stretches.

I had to laugh when Mulligan said that Cooks had more fouls on him than the Breakers had as a team.

@mariner4life yep. 5 teams have winning records on the road (Kings, Breakers, Taipans, JJs, 36ers). Wildcats are 3-3 and then the other 4 teams (Phoenix, Hawks, United, Bullets) all have losing records on the road.

Only 3 teams have winning records at home, and it’s the top 3 teams on the table - Kings, Breakers and Phoenix.

Corey Webster is cooking. Hits a game winning 3 in his 250th NBL game.

United with a massive choke in the final 30-40 seconds. They were up 7. Shout out to Blanchfield who hit a huge 3 plus the foul. Perfect missed FT and offensive rebound and kick out to Corey.
