    The next on that list should be the Lienert-Brown's. Anton would have played his 100th game if not for the injury (currently on 99 games).

    Ioane's aren't far off either

    There were two yellow cards in the Force v Moana Pasifika game that were upgraded to a red (Siosifa Amone and Mike McKee, respectively). In both cases, the SANZAAR judiciary didn't agree and issued the players with a warning instead of a suspension because the foul play did not breach the Red Card threshold (they got the warning because it was close).

    The same happened last week to Force's Ollie Callan's upgraded card.

    So of the four yellow cards that were upgraded to a red card in the first three rounds, three were deemed not to breach the red card threshold (75%). I don't know who the TMO was in both games, but I hope this is not going to be the trend for the rest of the competition

    @Stargazer makes sense when you're getting some of the best delivery in the comp from smith and you have someone like TUJ outside you......

    what classifies a run? into contact? or even a small run to draw a defender count? i think this is why i like him at 15 more than 10, loves a run so give him a little more space and some broken play

    @Stargazer

    Is that what that ‘World league rugby thread is’?

    I’ve been avoiding it as I thought it was another thread about a competition no-one gives a shit about half a world away where we’d get spammed about any NPC reject getting a gig.

    The key part of the article is the comparison from 2022 to 2023:

    - Time taken to restart play after a try has reduced from 1min 53s to 52s
    - Time taken for player substitutions each game has reduced from 1min 12s to 29s

    @Duluth I'd like them to examine the effect on the number and type of injuries. There do seem to be more injuries, this season.

    They also seem to be clustered around certain teams. It would be interesting to see if they are doing anything different

    Tahds certainly did something different. They got their players to pack on bulk in the off season. The body adjustments when doing that take a while to set in. Something about time per kg according to my son who has a degree in this stuff. He was amazed when I showed him the articles about 7-9kg body weight increases and said that injuries would be almost a given.
