@snowy If google did what I wanted, it would be interesting to see how many times the aura has been killed off over the last dozen or so years. More lives than a cat!

    Yep. She is a keeper.

Try to tell me that other teams still don't feel like they will lose to the ABs. Ireland may have some confidence but I still wouldn't back them, even at home in a re match.

@snowy Some teams think, or know they, can, none yet know they will

@snowy is a key part of a build up though, how do they prepare for a game you know in all likelyhood, you will lose, and if an off day, badly. Especially for a team who has never beaten us.

How often have we had an off day and still managed to find a way how to win.

While people may point to the Irish as showing how to beat the ABs, giving hope to those who believe, but you still need to pull it off, and play bloody well, which the Irish did this year.

During the Rc there was talk about the abs being too dominant and test rugby being boring and predictable.

Two losses to teams that played with a lot of heart and Auras gone missing , coincidence? I think not.

    I agree.

@taniwharugby We do lose pretty much a match a season. It sucks, but the Irish have just become the Australia of yesteryear.

    Aura will live on.

    Aura, where are you, Aura?

Think she's been hanging out with Akira Ioane a bit?

@booboo yep, we keep getting told she has gone, or that we have lost her, nek minut she back.

As if we would let her go, her and paying off refs is what keeps us at the top.

    BoD calls Aura striped away...
Possibly just pining for the fjords...

Brian O’Driscoll believes New Zealand have failed to replace key players, stripping the defending champions of their aura of invincibility heading into next year’s World Cup in Japan.

Nah not replaced, improved on! Does anyone see an improvement in ABs from those that left 2015 to now? Not that I see in 6, 7, 10, 12, 13, 14 (NMS to BFA), or 15 (BFA to DMac) - 11 is debatable, Jules was great vs France, and good through RWC but not as good over the year.

@machpants I think if we had settled on a #1 mid-field it would not be as big of an issue.

We have quality options there, but did we play the same duo in any game this year (injury obviously played it's part)

well, yea, we know that. But in all honesty only 7 & 10 are nailed on World GOATs.

Low key 9 at that point of his career was probably the least divisive selection at that position we've had in my lifetime.

Key takeaways from All Blacks 'testing' 2018

Key takeaways from All Blacks 'testing' 2018

After winning their first five Tests of 2018 comfortably, the All Blacks ran into some true contests at the back 2018. So what's to be learned, particularly following fierce battles with South Africa, England and Ireland? Craig Dowd investigates.

12 too IMO, as his allround game was complimented by being an absolute fucking beast that would give the opposition nightmares trying to tackle.
