No shortage of effort from Wellington in the last ten minutes, but Hawkes Bay definitely the better team.

then a knock on by Delany

Yeah, ref has swallowed his whistle this entire run of play.

But, who cares, we got the win. šŸ™‚

How on earth is that not a penalty, he’s just put the whistle away.

Unless it's in favour of Welly. That last 5 minutes was hilarious. I don't know what game MP was watching.

The good news is that neither Stone or Waenga will be the ref in the final.

What a massive difference it makes with a good HB. And without a 1st stuffing up the attack

And also shows what a poor coach super coach Ellison is. Overrated and out of his depth. Where his shit selections in key positions, when much better options were available, finally caught up with the team

He also gave a big chance for PUJ to step up. All it shows is he isn't really up to it. That was obvious weeks back though but once again a better option was available but was ignored

Proctor and Higgins played well in the starting backs. The rest were rubbish. Including Love until he finally looked better at 1st. Kirifi was the standout in the forwards

But well done to HB. Easily the better team until the last 20 minutes. Flanders was VG during the super year but seems even better at 8.

Yeehaa, as I said earlier apologies to Lions fans, but we got the final in the Naki next week, so that makes me very happy!

Really happy with the HB performance. Clearly the better team, despite the final score, which massively flatters Wellington and doesn't reflect our dominance. I wouldn't have predicted a semi-final spot at the beginning of the season with all our coaches, except our scrum coach, in their first year. So regardless of next week's result, I'm already very happy!

If Flanders and Thompson play like this during SR, they'll have a good shot at a black jersey. Obviously, Fakatava will be in the picture, too. I hope McClutchie gets picked up by a SR team; the best 10 in this year's NPC and top points scorer. I'd like to see him in the Māori ABs, next year, but he needs to get the opportunity to play SR.

We were terrible today, Hawkes Bay were much better. We just didn't play to the conditions at all.

Kind of annoying to only lose by a point in the end. It shows we could have had a chance if we had just stayed in the game.

Just poor selections. Made a huge difference when we replaced our useless Hb with another who could get the ball out quickly. And got rid of our useless 1st 5
