Dane Johnston, the Feilding High School TH prop, and Bradley Tocker, Palmerston North Boys’ High School's NZ Schools lock-flanker have been signed by Taranaki in conjunction with the Chiefs. Johnston wasn't wanted by the Hurricanes.

Westlake is also at the World Schools Festival. They are in the same pool as Paul Roos Gym.

If anyone cares I'm also here at World Schools with Papakura High School. We aren't a "rugby school" but we were invited through some connections. We're competing in an open comp which has 2 invititational teams and Paul Roos 2nd XV.

We were also out supporting the other 2 Auckland teams and both made their games look easy, Kelston are very good.

I wonder why Xavier Leota from Kelston was playing in the Global 7s on the weekend and not for Kelston at the World Schools?

    They did.

I watched the Kelston game. Really like Aio Keith's game, just into everything, with the added benefit of polished lineout work. Baleinaikasakasa looks a real handful in the carry as well. Scrummaging might need a little work, though.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Leota is very mobile but I doubt many hookers were playing in the Global 7s.

Not a rugby school, he says. For your second try in the game against RTA, your backline executes a beautiful midfield switch, your loosehead throws a perfect 10-metre cut-out pass, and to top it off, you have a conversion-kicking hooker. Reads like a rugby school to me!

Congrats on the victory, awesome to see the joy of the players at the end of the game.

Worth noting all of the New Zealand teams are undefeated so far. Kelston smoked Zambezi 50-3 I think and Westlake beat Llandovery 21-5.

My boys went down 30-21 against Dubai English Speaking School. If anyone watched you would have seen the comeback we mounted in the second half but wasn't enough to get it done.

Paul Roos is SA nr 1 rank and went unbeaten this year. This group is u17 and building for next year. Keenan Stoffels is a player to watch.

    Well done Kelston.

I have yet to watch the final but did see the last pool games from Westlake and Kelston. Both made a lot of unforced errors (dropped balls, forward passes etc).

The great, unbeatable Paul Roos side lose.
    NZ school side wins again.

I thought SA teams were unbeatable ????
