    Taranaki v Counties 2014-2023

As expected lots of Taranaki wins. Average score in that decade was only 26-22 though

Great try Taranaki. First thing they’ve done really. Nahalo still had a bit to do, Malimali didn’t put it much of an effort to tackle

    Taranaki 7-3 after 12

It appears the game plan is simple. Give it to Kini

To be fair to Taranaki,, its working, think I counted about 5 missed tackles not including others falling over themselves trying to get close. Almost gave me Rupeni vibes

    14-3 Naki

    Ha, well done Jacomb

Charges down a clearing kick, catches the deflection on the full and runs 20m to score

Has complete control of the game. Carrying on last seasons NPC form. One heck of a young player

@bayimports Kini is getting better every year. He was awesome for the Canes before his form dropped away towards the end of the season.

And Hoskins scores 31-15 but unlikely to come back with only 10 left

Was he good on the other side of the ball?

Yeehaa, good result to start season!
And apologies to my Dad (although he no longer with us) He was a real Counties man, being from up there many years back and his father and uncle were a big part of starting Counties (or South Auckland as it was then)
