Stunning finish ,best performance of the weekend
Concern for me is the number of players we are putting into the breakdown and leaving man on man D out wide and getting exposed with inside switches

See what happens if you play the newbies. I'm not sure why they didn't kick the ball out before the last try.

    @Bones

He’s a winger. Was in very good form for Harbour before getting injured

@Bovidae Sofai Maka was in the Northland futures squad back in 2022 but Northland being Northland signed Brady Rush instead
Always knew having followed Maka at the Manukau Rovers club that he just needed an opportunity at NPC level

The BF7s beat France 28-14 in their SF to setup the expected final with Aust.

    That try is Knewstubb's fault.

The lack of speed on D in the middle is a problem.

NZ didn't deserve to beat Spain - again. Well done for them to make their first ever final.

    Spain have some serious wheels

Looks like the AB Sevens don't really have an able replacement for Leroy Carter on the wing. Vai doesn't have the pace to be consistently dangerous there.

More positively, Maka, Mathis and Taumateine have looked really good. Perhaps Maka eventually takes that wing spot. Hopefully Kunawave is given a shot in the next few tournaments. He has genuine pace and is good in one-on-one situations.

Has Blake Makiri been picked up for SRP? From what I saw of NPC, he'd be bloody handy in this squad.

Vai is more of a ball player than an outside back Spain are quick and abrasive. Love the way they have played this tournament.

Would love them to upset Fiji.

A terrible cross-kick by Collier and a Taumateine yellow card. You can't say they're a boring team.

    Argentina take the bronze.

It could be a long season for the AB 7s. Too many errors and they don't have a defence that's good enough to overcome them. Perhaps not that surprising with quite a few new players.

Really fascinating and entertaining final between Australia and the Black Ferns.

Bit unfortunate about the missed knock-on, but it happens. Jorja Miller is special, great player to watch.

I was hoping they would look at Waisake Salabiau or Stanley Solomon. Both were stars at U18 sevens.
