    Possible Highlanders 23:

    1. De Groot

    2. Bell

    3. Kautai

    4. Dunshea

    5. Holland

    6. Haig

    7. Lasaqa

    8. Renton

    9. Fakatava

    10. Millar

    11. Filimone

    12. Tavatavanawai

    13. Tele’a

    14. Gilbert

    15. Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens

    16. Vikena

    17. Lienert-Brown

    18. Ma’u

    19. Stodart

    20. Howden

    21. Broughton

    22. Lennox

    23. Lowe

Judging off Instagram, Umaga-Jensen has the yellow bib on and is out. Looks like Broughton is in the reserve scrum, with Stodart at 8 and Howden at 6, so either Lasaqa is out or it is a 6-2 split (latter seems more likely). Looks like Robinson is in grey, so Gilbert must be in the 23, therefore he is probably starting which means Nareki is out? Lowe probably favoured as he covers both the wing and midfield.

Sititi was training today in front of the AB coaches, so might play for the Taua.

My guess for the Chiefs team is:

    1 Ollie Norris
    2 Brodie McAlister
    3 George Dyer
    4 Naitoa Ah Kuoi
    5 Tupou Vaa’i
    6 Samipeni Finau
    7 Jahrome Brown
    8 Luke Jacobson (c)
    9 Cortez Ratima
    10 Damian McKenzie
    11 Leroy Carter
    12 Quinn Tupaea
    13 Daniel Rona
    14 Emoni Narawa
    15 Shaun Stevenson

    16 Samisoni Taukei’aho
    17 Aidan Ross
    18 Reuben O’Neill
    19 Manaaki Selby-Rickit
    20 Kaylum Boshier
    21 Xavier Roe
    22 Josh Jacomb
    23 Gideon Wrampling/Anton Lienert-Brown

There’s a few exciting match ups for a highlanders fan at least. Can Groot get his act together and dominate? Can Holland hack it against Vai’i? Is Haig anywhere close? Can Tavatavanawai put a big shift in against Tupaea? Will be interesting all round to see how the teams match up

Just quietly - note a bad team. It’s got the sort of niggle that could just produce an upset.

Not expecting much out of tonight’s game. Will be happy if we manage a bonus point. If not, then hoping we can keep within 12 points and make a solid game of it. Have a feeling this could be a scrappy game

De Groot Ruled out with an Ankle Injury. DLB into the starting lineup.

Safe to say I no longer believe we'll win.

I was feeling quite bullish, but that is a real setback... still hopeful we can make a game of it.

Hopefully balanced by the fact none of the chiefs backs can tackle
