That fifth para is utter fucking nonsense Nick. You're a top bloke mate but sometimes you write the most ignorant crap.
Conservative politicians DO support safe schools??
Fuck you better tell Cory Bernardi. He got a petition going to withdraw funding.
Yes my comment about Liberal voters was flippant, but the core point was not: conservative politicians made some fucking outrageous claims about Safe Schools and wanted it gone. Look up any media outlet you want.
Now we've got some anecdotal evidence on this thread that it's some kind of anti-witch hunt, and the same old lines are drawn.
Telling a preteen they're transgender is stupid to the point of dangerous. But supporting a kid at school who might not be getting support anywhere else is not.

It's got nothing to do with Safe Schools (which I'm sure you'll find is not just criticised by conservatives) but your bullshit about "white, straight, affluent". You reckon those affluent white Islanders in your rugby teams support this? Or how about affluent white Muslims? For someone who gets upset about low information voters you're not any better yourself sometimes.
What outrageous claims were made about Safe Schools that were untrue? Was the info provided in that video incorrect? Perhaps you should check out the person behind this initiative and her views. But no, nothing to do with Marxism or insane SJWs. It's all about da kids. Whatever.

Have met many people from wide ranging walks of life and a range of ethnic backgrounds that are upset about some of the content in the “Safe Schools” program.
Some have move their kids from schools, some have decided to get involved in local politics, some have just started to take notice (for the first time) of what’s going on at their kids schools.

If they are getting involved in local politics that’s actually a great inadvertent result. Extremist types of all stripes rely on voter apathy with regard to local politics check out that crazy shitwitch who opposed to fluoride in drinking water that got voted on to a health board for example.

No one touching on the 9yo Aussie girls sitting protest of the Aussie anthem?
Apparently she got detention for sitting as the anthem lyric "we are young" ignored Aboriginals being here for 50000 years...
The father has of course applauded his her actions. Which are of course his own view projected onto and expressed by his poor daughter. Or she believes this her self in which case I am a hypocrite based on my appraisal of the Kaepernick fiasco.
In any case I doubt very much this is the end of this sitting..

Similarly, it may create while new batches of shitwitch who suddenly realise they should have been plugging their shit out in public all along.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't safe schools originally about preventing bullying?

Who cares if she sits ffs? The best way is to not give these idiots attention.

That's the crux of it really. From what I've seen the balance has gone way down the former rather than the latter. At a starting point I don't think chemical or surgical treatments should be allowed until the age of 18 as there is evidence showing that the majority of children identifying with gender dysphoria eventually identify with their own gender by the time they are an adult.
I also think that for better or worse parents should have the sole power here, I'd hate to see things denigrate further to the point where the 'state' can remove children from parents because of an ideological difference like what is feared with Ontario's Bill 89.

There is zero wrong with that line. Australia is a young and free nation. What an awesome Dad. I'm sure his daughter will grow up to be an open and free thinker.
I obviously have strong views on certain issues but I would never share them with my sons. I want them to develop their own views. Obviously I will provide a counterweight if they come home blabbering about some insane shit, but I would never think to indoctrinate them or encourage them to protest about something that I care about.
I don't think I should be too worried anyway. The YouTube generation appear to be incredibly cynical about alot of what they see and hear. Particularly anyone who tells them they should be ashamed of themselves for their gender or the colour of their skin.

Giving her detention is pretty ridiculous. So is her (parents) protest. Some vague line in the national anthem is what gets them outraged? Pretty sure the indigenous people in Australia have bigger fish to fry than that.
So in summary, ridiculous all round.

This what the girl said:
"The reason why I don’t sing it or stand is because – Advance Australia Fair means advance White Australia."
I wonder where she got that from? Absolutely disgusting.
Some more unsurprising facts here:
"Her father Mark Nielsen, who is an Associate Professor at the School of Psychology at the University of Queensland."
"One of the things she was really hoping to do with this is to raise awareness and get people thinking about institutionalised racism and how that looks and how that might feel to people who these kinds of things affect," he said.
What a fucking prize piston wristed gibbon. Poor kid.

Malcolm Turnbull tweeting that Dutton should be referred to the High Court. What a fucking scumbag. Just fuck off Malcolm. Obviously money can't buy this cnut happiness.

It's like life imitating the Onion. A stock image of a demented leftist family.

This is a good follow up to the Lauren Southern 'No Go Zone' video in Lakemba, Sydney.
Shows two things
- On an individual level the police action was totally unjustified, Muslim citizens are more than happy to take criticism and discuss Islam and are not likely to get violent.
- On a doctrinal level there is an authoritarian murderous undercurrent within Islam which many won't face up to. The question is whether in a group setting will this supersede individual tolerance or not?

This is a good informative read on the problem with Australia's new 'informed consent' model for gender transition which will result in more children being encouraged into irreversible treatment.
The author is a trans woman author whom I've known online for some time and met fair recently during the Darebin by election when she was campaigning for the Conservative party. Can vouch her head is firmly screwed on and she gives great insight into gender dysphoria and the fairly recent madness that is trendy transgenderism for kids.

Good article. Many good points discussed, but two stand out, describing the hypocrisy of those who wish for authoritarian control of everything except actions that may include them (or others such as them), and the clearest explanation of the key problem most educators find with children/young adults nowadays - life is not game you win:
*1. Last month here in Australia, new guidelines published in the Medical Journal of Australia gave the green light for potentially more trans children to go on HRT as young as 13, defying international guidelines. Specifically, “decisions about affirming a young person’s gender identity should be driven primarily by the child or adolescent, in conjunction with their family and health care providers.” While this experiment was hailed as world-leading, the minimum legal age for smoking, drinking and voting in Australia remains at 18, and it’s still 16 for consensual sex. So in Australia, a 15-year-old teen cannot consent to sexual activity but they can consent to life-altering medical treatments that they almost certainly cannot fully grasp at that age.
- If we teach our youth that medical intervention is a victory rather than a process, then we are encouraging youth to “achieve” something that may or may not be in their best interest.*

And probably soon to not be Scott Morrison with another likely General Election on the horizon after the Libs thrashed in Wentworth by-election yesterday.
Poor old Scott hasn't exactly endeared himself to the voters just yet and hard to see him winning an election if it is held soon. They had a great opportunity to install Julie Bishop who would have been streets ahead of Bill Shorten as a preferred PM. At least the weasels Dutton and Abbott have not been heard from recently (although this may be a bad thing)
-
Turnbull has further disgraced himself. It's bad enough that he just upped and resigned, putting the govt majority at risk. But then he pissed off to Manhattan and refused to campaign or assist the Libs in Wentworth. If that wasn't bad enough, his spoilt little bitch of a son was campaigning against the Libs on Twitter, obviously with dad's blessing. What a disgusting piece of work. Good riddance.
