@mn5 I guess if the next best options are Head and Labuschagne, then they've out-batted those guys!
Shaun's test record is actually OK - if he was a NZer anyway.
A test average of 37 is pretty ho hum especially when you consider some of the ridiculous talent oz have had for well over 20 years
Dejavu or is it just a copy and paste from the post you make every year about the Marsh boys.
I’m no fan by any stretch and thought their old man was overrated, but that’s all they’ve got right now.
When was Geoff Marsh ever overrated?

Fark, Australia escape with a draw. Good for them - that's gritty hard work. Paine, Head and the Waj all stood up. Not the result I expected to wake up to!
Nope! Neither here. If I was a genuine Aussie Cricket supporter, I would be super stoked with that effort.

There aren't many results i like in cricket more than a fighting improbable draw. Amazing result

Thought Pakistan got it wrong in the last 10 overs bringing their faster bowler on. He wasted a lot of balls particularly to Lyon.

and Lyon hanging on for 11 overs
Lyon is Gillespie-esque in his batting. Not a lot of skill, but plenty of heart.
I have a real soft spot for tailenders who dig in instead of trying to score 60 off 30, especially when there is an established batsman down the other end.
Siddle is a similar type of batsman.

Some very very strange field and bowling tactics in that last innings, even Paki commentators couldn't fathom. 1 close catcher on a spinning wicket, 4 or 5 on boundaries, part time spinner takes second new ball, best bowler in the game waits 15 overs to get a bowl. But Sarfraz is a total nutter.
That's not to say that the Aussie paki and Paine weren't outstanding at the end, so definite plaudits to the Aussies getting a draw.

Old mate Neil Wagner is as well.
Tim Southee isn't ( first of 1028 posts about Southees irresponsible batting for the summer)

A great spell from Lyon and the other young spinner. But I thought Pakistan did well to get to 282 despite the 4/0 and Ahmed having a brain fade on 94!

@mn5 that last wicket might have been. Saw it on highlights and the shunt is halfway down the pitch, trying to cover the spin.
Always gotta be suspicious of Pakistan and Lyon is no Tim May let alone Shane Warne.
Well actually he's better than Tim May....
