I wonder what the general sentiment is in the states about this caravan. Not the sjw retards hyped up by the sjw media but I wonder what the average person feels. If Trump can hold the line and not lose support this could be a good thing for immigration control everywhere.

@rembrandt You know Rembrandt, we've reached a stage where we will never know I reckon.
The media bias from both sides won't reveal it and I'm not even sure how to access a reliable polling organisation. It forever feels like we're flying blind on authentic information ☹
I'd love to be wrong

Live in Canada but have enough to do with people in the rust belt states to have an idea (I hope). And it's worth noting to a similar extent Canada has a relatively new flood of migrants from the US crossing at land borders so it's topical here too.
As best I can tell those who feel Trump is taking a step to close the door on the southern border permanently seem to view it as a regrettable, but necessary step to restoring sovereignty.
Those who see it as political opportunism from Trump that these migrants are caught up in see it as pretty shitty if just due to timing.
It probably falls along the same lines as view on removing illegal migrants 20/25 years after arrival.

Blockbuster bombshell Guardian scoop today, claiming Paul Manafort met Julian Assange in the Ecudorian embassy three times, before Wikileaks pushed Hillary’s emails.
An hour after that report, Wikileaks pushed back hard denying the report as fake, and dared The Guradian to make a million-dollar bet to prove it. Guardian then adds a comma and a “sources say” to their headline. Manafort rejects the claim, said it never happened. Maybe if UK had CCTV cameras in London we might have some actual proof. So far they’re clinging to “sources say.”

Yep, he’s an arrogant douche but he’s getting shit done and that’s what counts .

@jegga
But, but, but according to this entirely neutral fair article in the Herald, Trump's body language indicated he would be on the receiving end of the cool, calm and collected Xi.https://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=12170067
Caveat: Look at the bottom of the article to see where it was sourced.
the NZ Herald is now reprinting Communist propaganda from the South China Morning Post - owned by Alibaba CEO and Communist party member Jack Ma. But I guess whatever works in the hate Trump era.

This appears rather significant but is not.
And further details.
"Sunday’s move, which was not immediately confirmed by Chinese officials, would not have a huge impact on U.S. automakers.
In 2017, the U.S. exported about 250,000 new and used autos to China, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, worth about $10.5 billion. By comparison, Americans bought more than 17 million vehicles last year, according to Automotive News."
China-US battle is a million miles from being over.

I think he's done well - or looks like he's done well, but that tweet above is not much of a win. The tariff before this war was 15% and the major makers all have joint ventures there with almost no exporting to China anyway.
Because modern supply logistics mean build close to market.

Biggest winner from this is Tesla given their manufacturing still just in California, and China by far the world's biggest EV market.

Also related to past FDI regulations (I think) that required partnership with a local company?

Couple of replies worth reading. After consulting with my family and at their request, I've decided not to become a 50-year-old supermodel. I do not make this decision lightly. I make it out of respect for anyone who has to see me in a bathing suit. But for their concerns, I still wouldn't try to be a supermodel

After consultation with my family and at their request, I have decided not to seek the position of Grand Oompah Loompah of the Moon in 2020. I do not make this decision lightly - I make it out of respect for my family, the impossibility of the feat, and my lack of a spaceship.
