@MN5 my kids will just be pissed off with the special effects on any movie made before 2010. I tried to get them into The Princess Bride and it lasted 15 minutes
This reminds me. They had a Princess Bride screening at the outside cinema in Melbourne a couple weeks back, the timing was pretty incredible considering I had recently found out my Mrs's parents had failed and she had never seen it.
I think I enjoyed it more than her, absolute classic.

There's been a few old Clint's on foxtel recently. Watched High Plains Drifter the other night.
That's a goody but still probably not even his top five westerns.
Actually it's definitely not.
I'd go for....
Good the Bad and the Ugly
For a few dollars more
Unforgiven
Outlaw Josey Wales
Pale RiderFuck, there's some seriously good flicks that miss out. No room for Fistful of Dollars ( great fun but the 'sequels' just got better and better ) Joe Kidd, Hang em High or indeed High Plains Drifter...
Try the Beguiled, kind of a western, wounded union soldier in a confederate girls boarding school...

There's uber potential in that plot. Someone call Bob Guccione....

Seen it quite a few times, definitely not a western and not one of my favourites. No one wants to see Clint die on screen !!!

Creed 2.
Was psyched about this but it was pretty meh. You ended up feeling more sorry for young Drago than Creed. Would have been better if Drago had become an arsehole oligarch or something and his son some kind of Instagram tosser.

I think that was the point of the movie wasn't it? It's a bit Rocky II in that the 'bad guy' isn't really a bad guy.
I think they missed a trick by not having a montage (it's a Rocky film FFS, use the montage) showing both fighters, Creed especially, in a number of fights to give more depths to their careers.

Polar - Mads Mikkelsen, Kathryn Winnick and Vanessa Hudgens
I liked it, bit of fun and unbelievable gun fights in the John Wick realms...Mads is pretty cool in it.

Broseph. My dude. Really? Been 4 weeks since the best review of this came online here in the Ferniverse.

The people criticising Polar can line up and take it in turns to get fucked.
Firstly, Madds Mikkelsen is the fucking MAN. Rooting, shooting, stoic death machine. He pounds the shit out of that big-titted skank with a manly poise that most can only dream about. And she's fit as fuck.
Secondly, Lagertha is in a strip club slapping scantily-clad strippers on the arse.
Third... well fuck does anyone care about that? I've given you the two best features of this film AND the major plot points while I'm at it.
Yeah at times it fell off the path a little, but I wasn't expecting an instant classic - its a Netflix film based on a comic book. Don't go in with high expectations you bloody snobs!

@Nepia neither of those 2 are shagged in the film...but the ones that are, are still hot.
In fact, Hudgens is barely recognizable!

He takes a beat up checkbook off the dash and flips it to
Johnny.
Utah opens the cover and looks.
Sure enough. Assured Trust Savings and Loan.BODHI
I was picking up some bucks cause
we're leaving town. Bizarre, huh?
If I'd waited a day I'd been right
in the middle of it. Kinda sorry I
missed it. I'd liked to've seen
them.A long pregnant pause. Utah breathes deeply, remaining
calm, his voice carrying a chilling bravado.UTAH
Takes guts to rob a bank. All that
adrenalin pumping, waving loaded
guns, taking out the guards, getting
everybody on the floor, never
knowin' who's gonna burst in...
(looks right at
Bodhi)
... wondering what it's like to take
a bullet. Must be some ride.Utah's smile is a personal challenge. Bodhi sits
perversely intrigued. The mental warfare escalates.BODHI
Banks are insured, brah. Long as
nobody gets shot, it's really a
victimless crime. Just gotta scare
'em a little, would be my guess.
(ponders something)
Now if I was gonna rob a bank, with
all those guys wearin' body armor
these days, know what I'd carry?Bodhi reaches his hand underneath the seat.
He pulls out a huge holstered handgun, rests it in his
lap, draws and holds the gun up against his cheek.BODHI
.454 Casull. Most powerful handgun
on the planet. Muzzle velocity of
2000 feet per second. Twice the
kinetic energy of a .44 Magnum.Bodhi stares at Utah, then flashes his signature smile.
Utah says coldly.UTAH
One shot stopping.BODHI
(laughs)
'One shot stopping'... good, very
good. I like you, Johnny. I like
you because you'll sacrifice
anything to win. I respect that.
It elevates you a little above the
drones who have learned compromise.
Here, hold it. Check out the
weight. He twirls the gun, grabs the barrel and extends the handle
to Utah.
Johnny takes it slowly. Now it's aimed at Bodhi.BODHI
(cheerfully)
Whoa. Careful. You got the muzzle
pointing right at me, brah.He casually pushes the barrel away, looking back at the
highway.
Johnny swings a stiff arm out his window and pumps a ROUND
into open desert. KABOOOM!! The recoil blows Johnny's
arm back over the top of the truck. Practically breaks
his wrist.
Thunder rolls across the dark hills.
From the back of the pickup Nathaniel howls.
Grommet and Roach high five.Johnny turns to Bodhi, breaking slowly into a feral grin.
UTAH
Nice.He hands the smoking weapon back to him.
As if to say "two can play this game".
Bodhi stands challenged.
Each snared in the other's power...
Bodhi takes the weapon back, casually. Slips it under the
seat.BODHI
It's a special day, Johnny U. A
very special day...Utah's gaze travels beyond the windshield.
Where tentacles of brand new morning light vein the sky. -
Finding Steve McQueen
Forrest Whittaker, Travis Fimmel (aka Ragnar) Rachel Taylor is sexy in this too.
Inspired by true events, assume the main event is the robbery, rest is probably artistic licence.
Amusing light hearted movie, interesting seeing Fimmel in this role, plays a bit of a goofy type character, but though the was good, likely to be remove the type cast of Ragnar given he looks so different.
3.5 nights robbing a bank out of 5 BBQs with the local sheriff while you are a wanted fugitive

Enjoyed the first two as a teenager...
