She better hope there are no emails that say otherwise. John Key would never have backed himself into a corner by saying something like that
Ffs august 6 ,12 seconds in Hosking mentions sexual assault by party members.

@jegga so who will call her out on it first?
I don't know, that interview has been doing the rounds since monday. Its bizarre to see her try and pretend she didn't know , equally weird to see her try and pretend the party is some thing separate from her.

There is nothing more dangerous than these scorned complainants. They are probably getting so upset that they will want this to come out at all costs, feeling totally betrayed and like they have nothing to lose

I bet Ardern can't wait to get on a plane next week to a fawning audience at the UN " she wore a hijab, stunning and brave etc etc".
Gayford might want to think about updating his cv ,if this contnues to get ugly he could be the breadwinner in the family soon

I can't see her resigning under any circumstance short of evidence emerging of her seeing an assault in action and ignoring it and covering it up. But this whole fiasco has to damage her and Labour's credibility to say the least. Surely the electorate have to react to this?

Labours new president is one of the three people that sat on a panel that exonerated the alleged rapist. If anything if going to make the victims feel even more betrayed its that right there.
I'm sure its going to hurt labour and theres probably zero chance Ardern will resign . Without her their election results are probably in the mid 20%s and they have no one else with her electorate appeal so they'll do anything to protect dear leader.
Checked the Green mps twitters, theres no mention of labours sexual assault scandal. How odd.

That really is bizarre that she continues to deny knowing anything. Starting to lose the plot?

Kiwiblog has a handy list of things that had to happen for Ardern not to find out about the sexual assault allegations
That no-one at any stage before this week informed her that a member of her staff had been accused of rape or sexual assault
That her Chief of Staff who knew, never told her
That her office director, who knew over eight months ago, never told her
That her Chief Press Secretary, who knew, never told her
That her closest friend and colleague, Grant Robertson, who knew three months ago, never told her
That she took advice on an e-mail sent two months ago accusing the staffer of sexual assault, but never actually read the e-mail
That she didn’t read a single newspaper item or listen a single radio or TV broadcast or read a single story online over the last five weeks which mentioned the allegations included sexual assault
That the daily print out of political newspaper clippings to her, somehow omitted all the ones which mentioned the sexual assault allegations.
That she never once asked a member of her staff what exactly were the allegations against the person who worked for her, after he stopped coming to work five weeks ago
That when she said she told the Labour Party Council a month ago they are not the appropriate body to investigate a sexual assault, she was using that hypothetically and had no idea that was one of the complaints
That when Mike Hosking asked her on the 6th of August about “this bloke who may or may not have sexual assaulted someone” she didn’t hear the question properly
That despite the fact some of the complainants had gone to the Deputy Leader of the Opposition with allegations about a member of her own staff, she never sought details from anyone at anytime about those allegations – she just relied on a verbal assurance from the party president -

No but it’s interesting watching fanboys tie themselves in knots trying to pretend it is

The guy has been named on twitter.
He worked alongside Ardern everyday , he was considered invaluable to the party as part of their election campaigns and media management . It looks like they hired him after the first complaint, if that’s proven - that they knew he was a predator but still hired him anyway that’s incredibly appalling.
#metoo must become #wetoo unless of course you’re one of the best in the country at your job and it took us years to convince you to come back and work for us .

brilliant, a must read
http://www.thecivilian.co.nz/the-moment-i-found-out-that-you-found-out-i-acted-swiftly/
Favourite quote,
"But it was only on Monday that I learned that you had learned that Paula Bennett had learned that others had learned, and the moment I heard that others had heard, and that Grant had heard, and that Mike had heard and Rob had heard, then I acted swiftly to wait for Nigel to resign."
-
Two things I've heard in last 12 hours.
RNZ had a very long very detailed report on the details of the allegations. Ironically one of the most knowledgeable interviewees who had seen all the documents it appears at the time was a Stuff journalist.
Then this morning they had a piece with a Young Labour volunteer who effectively said he felt betrayed and found it hard to believe Cindy didn't know. Labour are in deep doggy doo if the troops are turning. There's a longer interview with the Young Labour guy to come later in the morning

How does this story tie in with the alleged sexual predator that was discussed by The Speaker a few months ago? The implication then was it was a National employee.
And he was virtually named and convicted in the media.
Are these separate cases or was he unfairly accused in place of this creep?

Different people . This guy is one of the inner circle .
He was hired after and in spite of the first sexual assault allegation against him too.
