Man Italy showing no signs of slowing down.
Can't seem to see confirmation of any new cases here, looks like a further 2?
I don't know what the hell they are doing there.
The public are not following advice to stay at home. I was told that the Italian government asked a Telco to track their mobile phones and 40% of the population was regularly on the move. This will be mostly the younger generation who will then have contact with their family/grandparents and you know the rest...
In my experience from visiting the tourist traps and landmarks of Europe, the only thing more ignorant and entitled than a coach load of Italian teenagers is a coach load of Spanish ones. I’m unsurprised they do whatever they want.
Spanish chicks are waaaaaaay hotter though

I reckon the Italian ones are at least a couple of degrees hotter right now

In yet more evidence this country is run by retards:
Australians on welfare benefits will receive an extra $550 a fortnight to help them in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. A coronavirus supplement will be added to JobSeeker (formerly known as Newstart), Youth Allowance, parenting payment, farm household allowance special benefit for a period of six months. Waiting times and asset tests for the Jobseeker allowance will be waived as more people lose their jobs due to coronavirus. Josh Frydenberg said in Canberra that this move will essentially double welfare benefits. “(The new payment) will be available to sole traders, casual workers who meet the income test,” the Treasurer said. “This means, anyone eligible for the maximum jobseeker payment will now receive more than $1100 a fortnight, effectively doubling the jobseeker allowance.” The government will also provide another $750 payment to people on social security and veteran benefits, on top of the $750 given out in the first round of stimulus measures.
Economic stimulus you can't spend because the government won't let you travel or even go to the beach.
14 years ago the Federal Government ran budget surpluses and had no net debt. Now we're three quarters of our way to a trillion dollar debt and the government announces a stimulus package of $189 billion. While asking us all to stay home.

Well I am about to do something I have never done in my 28 year working career, apply for the dole. School closures are imminent here and all my work has been cancelled for the last few weeks and now for the foreseeable future. Guess I should be happy to get back some of the tax I have paid over the years.
Hopefully I will pick up some work but I imagine there are going to be lots of people applying for whatever jobs are left. I am just happy I live in a society that does actually have govt support payments.
My thoughts are with all those other people who are likely to be out of work and have their lives impacted by this.
Well I can't actually apply as the website has crashed, must be a few people applying.

Scott Morrison is warning Australians that states could be locking down suburbs and putting up tougher statewide restrictions soon. “You will see more of this,” the Prime Minister said in Canberra. “You will see more regional focus to this, more targeted responses from states and territories and that will be done at the instigation, based on their health advice and they will seek to do it as consistently as possible as states face with similar outbreaks in similar situations. “Where possible it will be restricted but in some cases, I suspect, states and territories will take a broader application but this is what we are now facing. “This is the next stage and this is what was anticipated some weeks ago, almost a month ago when we said we are now moving to prepare for pandemic like situations.”
I always wondered what it would be like to live in a Communist bloc country

Nah, it's not a communist bloc country, not enough health officials have been executed, plus with Morrison in charge we all know it's basically a theocracy.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejilian has announced the state will move to enforce major lockdowns of non-essential services, in the first state to strike out without federal backing. "Tonight I will be informing the National Cabinet that NSW will proceed to a more comprehensive shutdown of non-essential services. This will take place over the next 48 hours," Ms Berejiklian said in a statement. "Supermarkets, petrol stations, pharmacies, convenience stores, freight and logistics, and home delivery will be among the many services that will remain open.

I read an excellent comment by Sam Harris this morning:
People who habor strong convictions without evidence belong at the margins of our societies, not in our halls of power. -

What's genuinely appalling is it's contrary to all available evidence. Hopefully the impact for you is short lived.

Now this is the very reason why I visit selected web discussion sites ¹, to find information I never really knew about before!
¹ where one can lie without people knowing too. Mrs Mick is half Spanish and Baron-Silas-Greenback is quite right, but that doesn't suit my point.

Front page of The Australian:
Backpackers emerge as new infection cluster
Virus infects several Bondi backpackers, as NSW clocks highest daily figure with 97 new cases.
Being young and stupid pays off alright, there is always someone more responsible and smarter to fix up their problems. Their brains are made of blancmange - all they know is "they" will send an ambulance out to collect and chauffeur them to the hospital and it costs 'em nothing. If you tell them they are not worth it they cry.
Resilient? Not by a long shot.

Yeah I see Australia shooting up the list. They were always a competitive country when it comes to medal charts. With the bondi beach mentality they’ll make rapid progress up the ranks.

Not if you’re a fan of hair ....
The usual games going on here. Brits out n about with commentary of being foolish / not listening then shots from Italy /Spain of people all in their apartments with a fear headline of how it’s going to much worse here as we aren’t listening ...
Don’t have to dig deep to discover Europe not being as compliant as suggested.
