No time for this. These types should get the shit kicked out of them, and thrown in jail
-
@canefan A Newshub article about the same incident says that the offender could face a maximum of 14 years in jail, referring to this section of the Crimes Act, if one of the cops spat at tests positive as a result of the attack:
201 Infecting with disease
(1) Every one is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 14 years who, wilfully and without lawful justification or excuse, causes or produces in any other person any disease or sickness.
Maybe there are special provisions in the Emergency legislation as well?

@canefan That really is disgusting behaviour.
There was a woman in Melbourne(?) that spat on a cop and they took her straight down to the pavement. That's the only way to deal with them. And it was screened on TV

That makes me happy. I hope she got hurt.

I don't care that she was wearing a hijab. Spit and get taken down like a dog

Not only in this time we are living in but any time! I think though, given the environment we are currently faced with and the service men and women protecting us, the pain should be more.

Definition of Essential Items has expanded to include heating, whiteware, cooking appliances, home office supplies. Online/phone orders only, essential items only, contact-less delivery. The Warehouse, Noel Leeming, Harvey Norman, Smith's City, PB Tech are on the approved list, to name a few.

An updated graphic on the cases by age bracket. Those in their 20s are almost double the other age groups.
That bracket are the fuckers mainly responsible for spreading covid19, and the least likely to die from it

Well, I just swung by pak'n'save Glen Innes that opens at 7. The queue at 0650 was (from Google Maps) about 250 m long. Fark that, came home for a cup of coffee and to do some work.
This feels very communist/Eastern European- long queues for essentials, no flour to be seen for weeks.
Interesting times indeed.

Really? Commumnist eastern Europe? Is this what it really feels like for you? I'm sorry to hear that it feels such a weight on you.
Sure, this is a bit of a pain but I don't feel hard done by

Yes, it did feel like that. From living in paradise, and growing up with capitalist first world problems, where our biggest issue is the price of avocados, to flour and yeast (basics) just not being available for nearly two weeks. Yep, that feels eastern european.

The Party says I'm number 3,678 in the priority queue.

I'm not sure what part of the country you are in but all of what you described is available.
And if you are in NZ, you are still living in paradise. (and you should consider yourself lucky)

Flour and yeast is not available around this area, and hasn't been for a couple of weeks. Partner was talking to the supermarket yesterday - their advice was that shelves were stocked overnight, and that flour was disappearing with the first 50 people or so. We (and our neighbours) have been in 4-5 different supermarkets since last weekend, with no flour or yeast available.
So yeah, after nearly two weeks of shortage, and then a queue that long in the dark, it didn't feel great. I'm delighted you have access to basics, and we're not going to starve - but ongoing shortages and queues like that did trigger an emotional response from me. Make of that what you will ... we do live in paradise, but that doesn't mean there aren't issues in the supply chain.
