I'm growing a beard for the lockdown as a hirsute testament to how long its been going on. Keeping hands away from face proving challenging at times though.
i came out this morning rocking a fabulous 70s-style mo
i was told in no uncertain terms to head back to the bathroom and remove it
My mate has grown a pedo mo, he reckons it's increased his desirability amongst the ladies and weirdly the evidence seems to suggest that is true. What is wrong with ladies or am I just way out of touch with the hipsterism of today?
What is a pedo mo?
Hey @mariner4life , throw up a selfie for @Machpants will ya?
it was too think for a pedo Mo.

Fuck that. I still have a full head of hair and stuffed if I'm clipping it all off.
I'll go the other way and grow it longer. Can always tidy it up later.Probably the one time that you balding lot can claim an advantage
Sure you do.
Just like Scott Robinson.

Any hair left between the top lip and nose, and all hair attached to same, ie., any moustache.

One thatβs rather pedestrian?
Or a foot long?

We have a major problem developing in the lodge here - food theft. People are getting really ticked off - and given the current circumstances i would not like to be the culprit(s) if they get caught. Not being on a large income myself, having a 2L of milk stolen is a big issue, but when you add in the bread and sugar that goes walkabout - yeah i'm peeved. I keep a little bit of food in my room, but now I've had to order a small bar fridge.
However I'm less stressed than I could have been because I've kept my mind creatively occupied building models, reorganising all my digital media, and rediscovering some of the hobbies and creative outlets I let go dormant over the last 12 years.
A few of the long term residents have commented on the upsurge in thefts and have some pretty clear views on the probable/possible culprits. I think the problem is going to get worse because a sector of the population here are running out of funds due to no income of any kind.
-
@voodoo said in Lockdown Check In:
@SynicBast that sucks! Have some of the residents lost their income and are now shrugging to afford food?
yeah we have quite a few people from overseas in that situation unfortunately. I can't categorically state they are to blame but the upsurge in incidents is stark and recent (as in marked increase over the last 5 days)
-
@canefan said in Lockdown Check In:
@SynicBast that's a bitch move. Everyone is struggling
Yeah, it's not like any of us here are on a great income - many of the long term residents are retired or on benefits so having to effectively buy necessities twice is hurting, especially when one is already operating payment to payment and the food budget is tight anyway.
-
Between redundancies and border closures we have some people caught in some unexpected - and occasionally desperate - situations in the interim... https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/413633/broke-and-desperate-govt-accused-of-hypocrisy-over-jobless-immigrants

@SynicBast and now you feel forced to fork out for a fridge. π
yeah, hard choice coming up as well: the motherboard of small form factor desktopPC I was using to process and render graphics finally bit the dust last Friday and this laptop is not capable of that level of processing. I have enough spare parts ready for a new build except for one major thing - the spare motherboard I have will not fit the small form factor case and the case wasn't cutting it in terms of storage and USB3/USB3.2 availability. But the only place that has the case I need in terms of efficiency is not selling cases as they are not considered essential. This has pretty much meant I cannot do commission work or work on editing video and photos as I need to for generating income.

Should be a couple more days and I get the feeling that they will lift more restrictions on 'online only' sales. Hang in there dude

Is that based on something they've said or just the trend in cases we have seen?
-
@nzzp another of our local butchers has posted on FB they will be doing online ordering and delivery only from Monday.
The OMAK butchers in Kamo have automatic doors, so are able to operate a contactless in storeorder, I know this one doesnt, so assume this is why they can only do online delivery?
Hopefully if things keep going as they do, at the end of 4 weeks some will be able to return to some relative normality, although regional restrictions may still apply.
-
appreciate the good wishes, people. Like i said when I first posted in this thread, it's the community here that keeps me coming back, politics be damned. I'll get through this - at least I can focus on analog stuff now. And being home sure beats being unemployed for 12 months on a 444 SCV in Australia.
-
Has anyone else adapted to the current level of shitness too? I think last week escalated to a new level of shit, and now I'm adapting to that too. Work will trigger me, it's always work and then I'll panic about it all like omg let me live on the moon and then I sleep and get over it.
Home is my complete haven at the moment, it's just perfect and I can forget what is going on in the world to a degree. If I was going to work and coming home to any empty house that would be tough...
Thinking of any ferners struggling.
