Movie review thread...

@voodoo Well that's embarrassing I thought Darren Aronofsky directed Cube & Pi. Hence the comment I made. Not the case at all..
So it's a no-recommend though?

@mariner4life it's a worry to me that my son is getting to the age where he's seen Superbad and American pie. Shit I found funny then and I still laugh at now but realise they are fucking grotesque at the same time.

I've never tried Pi
Like I said, never tried it. Can't even imagine the mess

Now that is a critique. Maximum information. Minimal waffling.
Chapeau!

Rewatched all the Bourne films: Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy, Bourne Ultimatum (IMO Legacy us not really a Bourne film, as no Damon)
I really enjoy these, they hold up well, Ultimatum is probably my favorite, and in terms of fight scenes, some of the choreography is bloody good
I think they should (and probably will) make another with Damon as Bourne picking up from Bourne Ultimatum.
I did the same during lockdown. They've aged pretty well, all things considered. Of course what they were doing with the Pentium PC tech in the early ones was an endless source of fun, but if you suspend your disbelief they're a hoot.

My niece made me watch Fantasy island, which is a thriller/horror based on the 70s show starring Khan off of Star Trek and Nick Nack from James Bond.
Never, ever watch this movie.
My original objections to watching it, which of course fell on deaf 16 year old girly ears, were based on remembering how lame the TV series was. If only. Those objections turned out to be the least of my problems. What a steaming pile of horseshit this movie is. It has a laughable "plot" that includes the island having magical powers through a secret underground spring, a drug cartel, zombies and a glowing rock. The acting is, well let's just say you can see the effort that the actors actually put into doing it. The best actor was the rock.
I just wanted the fucking thing to end and it wouldn't.

I was a fan of the Ludlum books so was keen to see them in a movie and thought they were fantastic when first made. On review the action sequences still hold up very well, especially the fight choreography. The CIA's ability to hack everything not so much.
I thought the movies got weaker.

Anyone watch Da 5 Bloods? I have sat down twice to watch it and only managed about 40mins of it so far. Not grabbing me at all.

@Crazy-Horse Heard from a couple of people that it's unwatchable. Spike Lee's movies have been dreadful since 25th Hour.
