This has to be the coolest (or weirdest) political campaign video I've ever seen. Great name too..
(Was 50/50 putting it in this thread or the Stupid Shit You See on the Internet" one)
WT actual F
Tiger won his seat and is now a Councillor.
This is very good news for makers of extremely weird campaign videos.

Khan won in London by about 10% in the end, not that impressive when you consider the Conservative Party pulled funds from their candidate.
If ever the divide between London & the rest of the country needed a statement, the result of this election was it.
Khan, is quite easily, the worst politician I've ever known. He does not stand for one single thing that the rest of the country does. He wants London to be torn of all it's history, replaced with a new far-left narrative. He is a complete, and utter disgrace who, in my view, has been elected on the back of the left-wing hipsters voting for a Muslim to prove how progressive they are.
I've not been into the city for over a year now, and I've missed it. But today, I feel in no hurry to get back, ever.

S’funny but a bit sad too. What’re your thoughts on full devolution, independence etc.? Wales as well as Scotland.
My feeling is that we are stronger together. Simplistic maybe but I’m half a bottle of Fitou in and can’t be arsed to be deeper.

No thanks.
Wales part of UK and Europe is my preferred choice.
Europe has gone.
Thankfully the recent Welsh elections have shown there's no appetite for independence beyond the Senedd and Social Media Echo chamber.
Plaid Cymru (party for independence) made no inroads into Labour's stranglehold.

Similar for me. England part of the UK and in Europe, though the latter view has been tested sorely through the EU handling of the pandemic and in particular the vaccine rollout. As you say though, Europe is gone for us, can't see any way back in my lifetime and we just need to get on with it.

I see the elephant in the room has not been mentioned yet again. It will be interesting to see how this gets reported going forward.

Why do they all have such racist names?

Good to see Plod going after these sort of bastards, whoever they are, and the victims getting justice.
And on the plus side, the days of the media like the BBC and Guardian failing to investigate or reports on allegation of organised sex abuse as it might be "Islamaphobic", or the police knowing it was going on but destroying incriminating evidence for "community relations", seem to be a thing of the past.
EDIT: Read Jayne Senior's book (the woman who exposed the Rotherham scandal) a year or so ago. It made me physically sick.

Not sure if I should take that as a recommendation or not. Probably not. Not sure I want to be educated that much.

It was genuinely one of the hardest books I've read. Really affecting. Not just what happened to the victims, but also the victims families when they tried to report or stop it.

Castration would be too good for these fuckers
What really surprises me having lived in this area is how the families of those affected didn’t either take matters into their own hands or get people who take care of that sort of thing involved
They don’t fuck around up there

@victor-meldrew I'll never be able to reconcile that ugly chapter of British civilisation. My anger and despair of the whole thing never subsides. Or the treatment of British Voldermort.
And to think of the fuss dedicated to pronouns as those horrors still take place.
