The "other" round one SR games

Terrible game.

Horrible game.
Sharks won't win many this year quite clearly.
I still can't get over how bad that fullback is. He was supposed to be the new wonderkind but he can't even catch a high ball. Cowardly. And then Frenchie who has no temperament and threw away the Heineken Cup many years ago comes on and does just as badly.

Since when did you care about the sister-lovers?
Sister-slammers
And I don't care whether they win or lose. But as @mariner4life has pointed out: it determines what they're going to whine about.

It's hard to believe but the half time score between the Waratahs and
Jonno Lancethe Western Force is 9 - 13.If I remember it correctly, the Force destroyed the Rebels in preseason but that was preseason. And the Rebels. You expect more from the Tahs. They weren't convincing at all in the first half (from what I've seen).

Force player penalised for high tackle (arm around neck) but no card. Correct decision IMO; ref explicitly saying that the tackled player was falling into the tackle. In the NH, that probably would have been a card.
Didn't Khunt get a yellow for a similar incident last night?

I watched this for 20 minutes, a few good moments, some very nice scrummaging, and a lot of dross. Skelton looks scary.
Commentators stupid. One of them claimed that at the end of a maul the opposing player holding the player and ball on the ground was obligated to release him and ball. The other shut up and changed the subject, lol.
http://www.rugbyrefs.com/showthread.php?13854-Clarification-2-of-2011-Ball-Carrier-in-a-maul-goes-to-groundI noted down a run of play for 5 minutes from about the 60 minute mark, mistake after mistake, just total shit play, cock up after cock up:
-Force penalty, bad kick out only advances them 15m.
-Force lose lineout
-H-Petty drops up and under on his 22. Nothing but shirt, haha
-Waratahs immediately knock on from the scrum
-Play down the other end, Tahs bad clearning kick.
-Force lose messy scramble at lineout. -

Yeah it wasn't a great spectacle, weather certainly played its part though. Ugly from the Waratahs but they shouldn't be too happy grinding out a win against a Force side who made things difficult for them.
-
Even the Tahs Force highlights looked rubbish.
For some reason the Force are a bit of a bogey side for the Tahs - and they love to drag teams into an unwatchable grind as well.
At least there seemed to be some running rugby in the 3 overnight games in South Africa. Lions v Tahs should be a good battle next week and a truer reflection of where both teams are at.

The Haguaaarrres scored what will possibly be the try of the season. Beautiful stuff even if it was against the Queens.
