@Tim said in Club Rugby NZ 2019 (Not BOP, Magpie, Northland):
Went to down to watch North Shore (my sons club) host Northcote (my club) and Cotes started really well and got out to 24-nil before shore really got in to gear. Slowly got back in the game and was a pretty tense final 20. Shore took advantage of a number of early Northcote subs and looked dangerous in the backs.
Northcote looked To have closed it out when got given a scrum on half way with time just about up. Managed to get penalised at the scrum and home crowd erupted realising they had a final chance to steal the win. Then Shore missed touch....doh!!

@Steven-Harris Yeah, think so. ECB top qualifiers this year. Aoake at centre, Groundwater in the team too (often plays fullback). Think Lewis Gjaltema is the halfback, with a good Westlake oldboy at 10.

@JK Thanks for the report!
Northcote favourite for the replay of last year's final?
Nah I think Bays favourites. They’ve had a great season and tapered off a bit towards end of regular season but we’re very good yesterday by all accounts. Hoping we can roll them but that bays forward pack is going well

Was a one point game in round robin. Go Cotes!!
If its still tied after extra time is the title decided by a countback of how many pips in the half-time oranges?
The highest Snapchat score from a player chosen at random from each side.

Interesting to note that multi year Hurricanes contracted player Billy Proctor has not been named in either the NZ Maori nor the NZ Maori Under 21s both playing their Fijian counterparts in Rotorua tomorrow. To watch him play you will have to traipse along to Evans Bay Park in Kilbirnie to see him playing for the Marist-St. Pats team in Hardham Cup rugby.

@Higgins Not one single player from this year's NZU20 has been named in the NZ Māori U20s team to play Fiji U20, so that doesn't say much about Billy Proctor. A lot of other SR players missed out on the Māori ABs, too. There are even players who made the Māori All Blacks squad, but aren't getting any game time (replacement players Billy Harmon and Pouri Rakete-Stones, as well as Jackson Garden-Bachop and Jonathan Ruru).
