<p><strong>How much does CGI rock my shit?</strong><br><br><br>
alot!!!</p>
</div>
</blockquote>
<p>Does that mean it's a good thing? I can't understand the slang you nerds speak. ;)</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>TBF, that is by far some of the best CGI I've ever seen, looks far more realistic than anything in the prequels. The other best CGI I've seen was a whole bunch of buildings in a movie about the Nuremburg trials. </p> -
It's the not having a girlfriend/wife bit that allows them to have the 'life' they want....

<p>Meanwhile the plot rumours are coming out and aren't bad...</p>

<div>Now, courtesy of Badass Digest, we have an extremely unofficial outline of Episode VII's broad narrative. Please note that while Badass Digest is a generally reliable source of information, this is 100% a rumor - with some details that might confuse you - until proven otherwise.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Ready? Although nothing here is too specific, there are possible spoilers ahead.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>According to the site's Devin Faraci, this is how Episode VII opens:</div>
<div> </div>
<div>"Imagine the standard Star Wars crawl, and when it ends the camera pans up to the stars. But instead of a spaceship zooming into frame we see... a hand! A severed hand, tumbling through space. A severed hand gripping a light saber.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>That hand falls onto a desert planet, where it is discovered by characters who will be our heroes. One is Daisy Ridley. The other is John Boyega, who is playing someone trying to change his path in life (again, I'm keeping it vague here). They recognize the light saber as a Jedi relic and decide to return it to the proper people."</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Faraci then goes on to describe the hero's journey proper.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>"Their quest takes them off world, and they meet up with Han Solo and Chewbacca, who aren't flying around in the Millenium Falcon anymore but are piloting... well, that could be a spoiler. I'll leave it. Anyway, Han and Chewie recognize the light saber as Luke's, and they say they haven't seen their friend in thirty years, since the events of Return of the Jedi.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>So begins a quest to find the missing Jedi Master. Meanwhile, on an ice planet, nefarious forces are building a super weapon, one capable of destroying not planets but entire solar systems..."</div>
<div> </div>
<div>As Badass Digest notes, this plot sounds familiar because it echoes the beats of A New Hope: the hand replaces R2D2 as the call to adventure; the hero(es) meet up with Han and Chewie; they leave on a quest against a backdrop of unrest.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Faraci finishes up by saying he is "hearing extremely positive things about the action, and very, very good things about the characters themselves and the way the actors are bringing them to life."</div>

<p>A severed hand that doesn't burn up on re-entry with the atmosphere :think:</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Well they have sound in space in that galaxy far, far away, so why the fuck not?</p>
</div>
</blockquote>
<p> </p>
<p>It does feel like an intentionally misleading "leak"... as Star Wars fans will forgive a lot, but yes, I'm not sure anyone will buy a had surviving re-entry intact... There will be a LOT of leaks till this comes out, none of them true.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>They'd be better off having it as Chewy & Han & some kid in space suits doing repairs on the Falcon, broken down in space a-la Gravity & the hand bumps into the kid & he loses his shit. And then you have 2 minutes of Chewy & Han looking at the hand & Chewy going "ARRRRGH!!!" while Han goes "I know!" while the kid pirouttes off into space screaming in the background till Han larconically gets him.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Thats 4% less stupid. </p> -
They haven't seen their friend for 30 years?<br><br>
That's a bit shit. -

<p>Watched the first couple of eps of the new Star Wars Rebels animated series (on youtube). Quite cool and some good tie-ins with the movies without being heavy handed.</p>
</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The main character is like a cross between Luke and Han as a teenager.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Certainly worth getting your kids onto so you have an excuse to watch cartoons.</p>
