@taniwharugby mine has just worked his second shift at a local Supermarket packing shelves and after the first pay cheque, he'll no doubt change his focus.

I can't help you with the mower. I was contemplating getting a robovac, however the wife still does a good job with the dyson

I’ve seen one in action at a workmates lifestyle block. His wife has lots of garden beds and hence there is a huge amount of lawn in funny shapes.
Couldn’t tell you the make sorry but it does a brilliant job simply because it’s mowing every day keeping the grass at a set height.
Pretty smart too. Knows where to go. Where to pick up from after a recharge. Is quiet.
Just a brilliant piece of gadget if you have a big lawn. -
@majorrage there is about 1200sqm of lawn to mow, loads of trees and shit to mow around and with it needing mowing every week right now...

We've had an iRobot Roomba vac for about 9 years. Bloody brilliant piece of kit.
Have looked at robot mowers but just couldn't be faffed with setting up the boundary wires etc. Been told there's some becoming available with new technology which use radio/bluetooth beacons and once the area is mapped out you're done.

@victor-meldrew yeah I think the ones I was looking at are Bluetooth/ gps, but are some that I saw mentioned wires and boundaries.
I can't see me ditching the ride on that soon and expect the pricing and tech will improve in the next couple of years too.
