Pretty cool story, whilst personally I reckon 44 would be a bit long in the tooth to be starting a Police Career ( I gave away the idea at 37 ) from what I've seen and read he'd be an awesome Community Constable.

19 tests, felt like he played more and I guess if Cully and Goldie weren't around he would have. He was a hell of a player in his own right.

Yeah, back in '95 I thought he'd be nailed on for the NZ 15 shirt for some time. Remarkable that he got "only" 19 caps.

Still, Cullen wasn't bad I s'pose.

Seriously underrated player. The Franco botica of the mid-90s.

It was slightly sureal that he went from this breath of fresh air at 15 in the WC to dropped from the team on the EOYT because "he was too predictable" & we went with Rush, Lomu & Wilson v France - and promptly lost.

He probably was a little too one dimensional, you knew he was just going to run it back at you, meaning his better slot was wing, but he was up against Wilson, Lomu, Vidiri, Rush.. had he gone by the time Tana turned up? He ended up playing centre a lot overseas

but he was the winger in that all important test series win against SA in 1996. That back three of Wilson, Cullen and Osbourne was pretty lethal.

Yep, he would have started 1996 looking at his long test career and 12 weeks later his spot is gone.

Oz! One of my favourite ABs, and like you guys, I'm astounded he only got 19 caps! My personal, and unproveable belief is, if it wasn't for the big guy on the wing, he was the star of the 95 world cup, he fucking killed it.

Eric Rush is one of the best sportsmans dinner speakers i have seen, and most of his good stories involve Glen, sounds like a complete character.

Good luck on your new career Glen, you fucking legend.

You should check out some of his clips on YouTube , the boxing session with Zinny is pretty good but half of it is the way he tells it. He was hosting one of the hunting shows for a while. Like MN5 said he'd be a superb community Constable .
How awesome is that photo of him in the uniform with the cloak on ?

aucklandwarlord and Crazy Horse would tell it better but the pros that Osborne would bring to the role would far, far outweigh any cons. He still looks more than able to run down any troublemakers ( and like any new constable he'll have his 2 year probationary period on the frontline ) but I'd imagine his very mana and likability would be enough to defuse loads of potentially shitty situations. After all a cops most powerful weapon is his/her voice......
