2016 TSF NPC Tipping http://www.eglobal.co.nz/tsfnpc16/tsf.htm

  • OK team, usual format but you just need to know that the first game is on Thursday night.

I have put up the tipping form for Week 1, full website to follow. So if you want to get some tips in go to

    The responses will be here

  • Sure why not

  • Sure why not

    Harbours eternally poor tipping results.....

  • I'll be in KP . Just chuck me in whatever team will have me please

  • Richie, Joan and Mary in!

  • Morning team - spread the word everyone, I know Higgins has been doing his best on PM and I added the tipping links for Week 1 to the Facebook group.

  • OK we have a website now

    http://www.eglobal.co.nz/tsfnpc16/tsf.htm

so bookmark this for the next 2 months.

Already 23 have submitted which is a good number with a fair few of the usual suspects (such as me) to make their picks.

  • I'll play for Wellington, or a leftover team...
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

  • Good turnout so far - Northland and Wellington have 5, other teams should be the Bush, South Island, Hawke's Bay, BOP/Waikato and Auckland/Harbour/Counties. No decisions until everyone is in.

Now all you have to do is remember to keep tipping - it's short season, how hard can it be?

  • Question from a newbie: as most team line-ups aren't known before the first game is being played, do we submit our tippings for all games before the first game, or just the tipping for that first game and submit the rest later?

  • Most just tip the whole round but up to you if wanted to submit your tips that way. High risk of fogetting to tip tho, well would be for me!

Couldn't find anything in the rules but I was always under the impression that you had to tip the entire round rather than in dribs and drabs. Guess we will have to wait until KP resurfaces later today to make a ruling. If he does not come in just tip the entire round to be on the safe side.

    Try here for the lineups

  • If you miss a game or two you can tip mid round so technically you could tip game by game BUT you would have to tip the additional options (ie highest / lowest scorer etc) at the start of the round.

Yes the unwrittten rule is tip all games prior to the first game as you should pick highest/lowest scorer before any games is played. I allow a tip to be changed if you realise you've cocked up badly (for example picking the Steamers to lose 17+ when obviously you meant win 17+) but otherwise, the less work I have to do the better!

  • I don't believe it - Bay Imports has crawled out of the woodwork! Could this be a great omen???

Or vice versa in the case of newcomer Victor A (Magpie_in_aus?) who has BoP 17+ but Taranaki for the highest scorer in the round. Talk about covering your bets!

  • Getting close to kick off time and at the time of writing the allegiance declarations look to be about

Northland five entries - one more would ne nice
Nth Harbour = three entries - still need at least two and preferably three more
Auckland = three entries - still need at least two and preferably three more
Waikato = three entries - still need at least two and preferably three more
Bay of Plenty = five entries - one more would be ideal
Hawkes Bay = four entries - one more will get a starting lineup but two more would be perfect
Wairarapa-Bush = six entries for the defending champs
Wellington = a full squad has been assembled
Sth Island = looks to be four so a couple more would do nicely

Still a few regulars to arrive but if you are out there tossing up whether to take part or not then please give it a go to ensure all teams have a playable number and to stop amalgmations or the draft being required.

  • Might be an idea to combine Auckland and Harbour?

  • Here are the provisional teams - will be revisited if we get more entries. Players marked in bold have started with 10 for the Harbour win. So it looks like Harbour-Auckland is the first leader of the comp.

BOP - sportboy midge Donsteppa bayimports KP
Counties-Waikato - Crucial mikedogz Hooroo Unite Adam Bowen
Harbour-Auckland - Virgil DK JK Dogmeat Tim NZZP
    Hawke's Bay - Stockcar86 Victor A Hurrycanes Higgins Stargazer
Northland - Farnthhayden Gunner Kev TR Justin77
South Island - Phooey Corkscrew ACT Crusader Broughie Richie
Bush - Buck Waynes World Plastered Peni Triple T Langakali Victor
Wellington - Cactus Jack Dingo Hydro Allstar Winger Chaz

Joan and Mary and African Monkey still to join a team - dependent on who else joins.

  • I don't believe it - Bay Imports has crawled out of the woodwork! Could this be a great omen???

A good omen for someone I am sure, hopefully us.. havent seen any rugby for a while though, so will be relying on dumb luck rather than normal luck ..

I also tipped Harbour 1 to 8, so we're off to a good start.

  • I also tipped Harbour 1 to 8, so we're off to a good start.

They are my favourites to win the tipping if Harbour actually win a decent number of games - big if there!

  • Ha! 🙂

  • Latest scores after 5 of 7 games.

    Counties-Waikato 25 - 23 Hawke's Bay
    BOP 21 - 20 Northland
    South Island 32 - 31 Wairarapa Bush
    Wellington 30 - 31 Harbour

  • Hmmm thought I would have been up there but guess too far off in the margins

  • Hmmm thought I would have been up there but guess too far off in the margins

31 so if I had extended the leaderboard just one more point (like they used to do with Tiger when the leaderboard would be stretched to include him if possible - when he was still OK I mean!)

We're collectively backing Otago and Tasman this afternoon 75-80%

  • First week is over and Broughie has stormed into a 10 point lead on the back of picking all 7 results and Canterbury to be top scorers. Matching him for 7 results was Tim who didn't so well with the margins and is in 4th meaning that 2nd and 3rd are with Dogmeat and Victor. Picking only 3 results were Crucial, Sportboy, FarNthHayden, Waynes World, Number 10, NZZP, Hooroo, and Adam Bowen.

The team scores were strange with the 4 teams who topped 40 points playing each other which was unlucky for South Island and Wellington as the Bush and Harbour-Auckland triumphed and lead the table. Wins for Hawke's Bay and BOP over poor Counties-Waikato and Northland teams.

The website is up to date including Week 2 and 3 tipping forms - in week 3 the Wednesday games start so good to stay a week ahead to avoid forgetting.

  • FFS now I know why my score was so much lower, I changed a margin 2mins after sending in original tips and for some reason picked Auckland rather than Canterbury 9 to 16 which wasn't the game I was changing! Pure typo as picked Canterbury in virtual and TAB.......

  • Holy smoke.  Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once and a while.

  • KiwiPie still don't know if I'm in a team or not. Not a space for going it alone 😂😂

  • If you check the leaderboard you will see who I selected you for.

  • Not long to go now before he first match in the second round kicks off so for those that haven't already dealt to it please ive somethought to sending your tips in. Hopefully Crucial will be awake in time to get his sent in from so far away (not sure how far he is behind in hours) and Adam Bowen both for the Counties-Waikato combination manage to get in on time, the same could be said for Number 10!

Still need one more to complete a full lineup for Northland so come on you Northland supporters now is the time to answer the call of duty!

    http://www.eglobal.co.nz/tsfnpc16/tsf.htm

    Good luck with your tips.

  • Almost time for the coin toss and there are still a few waiting to factor any last minute changes into the equation. Little more than half an hour until the referee calls both teams out onto the field and the Counties-Waikato guys are still waiting awaiting Adam Bowen and Mikedogz to cast their tips into the ballot box whilst AllStar (Wellington) is adopting unusual tactics in having tipped week three whilst keeping his powder dry until the last minute before submitting tips for round two with Northland still holding their breath for someone like Chiefy or stevenharris to come out of the woods to make up their full roster.

Final call please if you want to be in for the first game http://www.eglobal.co.nz/tsfnpc16/tsf.htm but all is not lost as you can still come in from the second game onward. Probably get the bonus of an away 17+ for the Otago v Wgtn game as compensation and thats a decent possibility........................

  • Thanks KiwiPie South Island it is.

  • 3 games in and here are the latest scores - there are a couple of tippers missing but everyone is playing with a full team of 5. The majority went against Otago and nobody picked them 17+. Pretty much everyone picked Manawatu and Auckland and many were spot on with the margin.

    Counties-Waikato 17 - 15 Northland
    BOP 18 - 16 Wairarapa Bush
    South Island 15 - 20 Harbour-Auckland
    Wellington 17 - 19 Hawke's Bay

Leading for the week are Hooroo, Hurrycanes and Virgil on 25, 22 to Sportboy, Cactus Jack, Gunner & JK. Corkscrew and Kev are the worst with 7.

The overall top 10 is currently

    Broughie 77
    Dogmeat 69
    Cactus Jack 68
    Victor 68
    Virgil 67
    Tim 66
    Hurrycanes 65
    Triple T 65
    JK 65
    Stockcar86 63

  • Nobody at all is picking Tasman to win and just a handful going for the Steamers. Only ACT Crusader picked the Naki as top scorers although a fair few have Northland as low scorers and a couple have Harbour.

    Counties-Waikato 29 - 28 Northland
    BOP 30 - 31 Wairarapa Bush
    South Island 25 - 32 Harbour-Auckland
    Wellington 28 - 31 Hawke's Bay

Virgil on 40, Gunner, Cactus Jack and Hooroo on 37.

    Broughie 89
    Dogmeat 84
    Cactus Jack 83
    Virgil 82
    Tim 81
    Triple T 80
    Victor 80
    Chaz's Raiders 76
    Buck 76
    Langakali 75

  • Hmmm should have picked up a minimum of 10 today as pretty sure got both winners
Edit FFS somehow I picked harbour to take the shield and win by 9-16 yet put pretty much my hole tab account on waikato and went waikato 13+ in virtual tipping lol wtf is going on

  • Not that my Naki margin really helps given my other tips have been rubbish. I really thought Harbour would be lifting the log tonight.

  • Here goes - Week 2 is over and the margins were the issue for most people. Games can be close for an hour with these new laws it seems but can suddenly blow out. Or blow back the other way in the case of Counties v BOP. Anyway, picking 7/7 results were Virgil, Cactus Jack, Justin77, Richie, Joan and Mary, Donsteppa, Gunner and Hooroo. Best round was Virgil picking up 4 maximums.

Wairarapa Bush, Hawke's Bay and Harbour-Auckland are 2 wins from 2 while Counties-Waikato picked up their first win. All teams scored between 41 and 46 with so many going picking the same results.

Next week is the qualifying round for the TSL Cup, the top 16 go straight through to the last 32, the rest of the players fight it out the week after to join them.

  • This is something to factor into your tips for this week. Remember the first game for this round is Wednesday night 7.35pm NZ time, a day earlier than has been the case so far. It will mean that a fair number of matchday 23s will not have been named by then so some guesswork (including whether these guys listed berlow will make the squad!) will be needed when settling on your tips.
