You might need to watch it from the beginning again. It’s so batshit crazy that you’ll likely forget what the hell is going on.
Yeah might do, we didn’t start it til 10pm and as it is over two hours long I knew I’d be battling.
Again, Kudos to the Bradster for continuing to stay interesting and fun unlike others ( cough cough Neeson, Travolta, Butler etc ) who just phone it in for a paycheck.
Surely that’s a writer’s problem
They can all act and have some recent gems between them

Butler doesn't deserve to be there, he's acting his socks off not phoning it in. That's just his level. He's still mostly fun though unlike the plank Clive Owen. (Have to get my dig of Owen into a post about crap acting).
I enjoyed Bullet Train, over the top crazy, had one of those weird streamer releases instead of being released in theatres IIRC.
Owen was excellent in Monsieur Spade

He plays the exact same character in every movie I’ve seen him in in the last 15 or so years.
Yeah, but that's his range. Travolta and Neeson have touched greatness.
Sounds like an episode of name that movie.

Saw Gladiator II on IMAX last night; thought it was on par with the first one. Ties in with what happened 20 years previous and some good performances from the leads esp Denzel Washington and the 2 young guys who play the fucked up Emporers. I’d give it a maximus of 3.5 stars, with maybe an extra half for viewing on IMAX.
Oh and Connie Nelson is in decent shape for 59.

Yeah saw it last weekend. The highest praise I can give it is that it's a worthy sequel to an awesome original.
It's fucking violent too.

Frederick Forsyth's 'The Devil's Alternative'.
Sounds interesting!
Awesome book. Back in the early 80s when the Cold War was a thing.
I enjoyed it more than Day of the Jackal, which he is more famous for.
Russian wheat crop fails...
Russia considers invading Eastern Europe ...
Politburo split ...
Pres and head of KGB against invasion...
Ukrainian Rebels assassinate head of KGB which is covered up coz otherwise WWIII ...
Can't remember why but Ukrainian Rebels hijack massive oil tanker to try and publicise assassination...
Much spy stuff.Really fast moving. Like a screenplay, cutting from scene to scene: just when you're getting to the good bit you flick to the other scene.
One for the 'Books' thread perhaps, but as mentioned my favourite book ever.

How completely incompetent is every Hollywood studio? They haven't even released a major action movie with Russians as the villains since the Ukraine invasion ...
Bullet train, main bad guy was supposedly Russian.

Great cast, looks tense but explosive, one for the pool room.
