Love has had surgery based on his Insta story.

    The troublesome knee?

Ankle or calf I think. Just minor surgery according to @Landers92, he should be sweet for round 1.

    Or not..

With the first pre season game a few weeks away, who's everyone seeing as the starting 10? I've got a feeling they'll go with Cashmore at 10 and Godfrey at 15 with Love out for some time. I'm really hoping Hohepa doesn't get first crack just because he's the more experienced guy. He showed last year for the Crusaders despite his experience he just wasn't up to it. Harkin is also involved so maybe we might see him get a run in pre season as well.

I would start with Cashmore but I think the Canes will start with Hohepa and use Cashmore off the bench initially

I think they'll be cautious of asking too much of him too early. Looking at last NPC he only started 4 of his 11 games

Yeah I've got a feeling you're right. It's a shame because I think Cashmore, Godfrey and Harkin are all better than him and that will probably show as the season progresses. Hopefully Hohepa suprises.

@Steven-Harris Latham must be on some good drugs to claim Mack Mason would "easily be the best 10 in the world" if he had stayed in Aus and been nurtured properly.

@KiwiMurph don’t disagree with you that claim came out of left field

Wrong Latham to be taking notes on first-five play.

    That's far off Ken Laban.

Laban would of said: "Peter Umaga-Jensen out of Scots College, born and raised in Wainuiomata, I've watched him since he was a school boy, such a bright talent etc etc"... "TJ Perenara out of Mana College in Porirua. This kid has a big future ahead of him"etc etc. You get my drift. Same yarn every game he commentates.

Wrong, Umaga-Jensen wouldn't have passed it in the first place. 😃

I get that this is a light-hearted poke, but that's not a bad thing. Formula one Comms are by far the best of any sport I watch and they're constantly rehashing stuff.

I prefer Laban over can't tell brown people apart Nisbett.

Imagine Nisbett trying to remember what school they went to and what they look like.

At least Laban takes an interest rather than some of the ignorant commentators/pundits.
