Zero gainline efficiency from Wales, our carriers simply aren't big or strong enough to get over the gainline at all.
Sounds like Wales' nil total might be flattering them.
We’ve had more than enough ball in the right parts of the field to score tries but we haven’t had the power to break the gain line or the guile to unlock the French defence
I thought there was some great shape in the attack, just hesitant or wrong options at crucial times. Certainly not helped by France being allowed an extra metre or two past the offside line.

I didn’t get to see the whole game as was in a French bar with a bizarre lack of interest from the patrons and poor reception, but did Wales even get a kick at goal? I didn’t recall one from my intermittent viewing.

No

Heard in the queue at the CO-OP in Taffs Well just now:
“Any positives from that performance butt?”
“Aye definitely - we’re still unbeaten at home and Triple Crown is still on!” 😂🏉🏴

Hmmm... a few things stood out there.
-
The playbook looked almost exactly like Grand Slam Gatland, the difference being the opposition can tackle now and actually know what a backline move looks like. No penetration in close to make France's forwards work hard.
-
I am yet to be convinced that Tomos Williams is the best option at 9 for Wales. He is mostly good but then step-passes at the exact time Wales need faster ball i.e. within sight of the goal line
-
France didn't seem to get out of third gear.
Tough watching for Wales fans which will be the status quo for a while yet I think.

Rucks are a fucking shit fight of attacking players sealing the ball or diving off their feet
Which is exactly the way Paul Williams has refereed every Test match - and most other pro games - he's been involved in.
A bit like Jaco Peyper. Just let the boys sort it out. Except the boys won't do anything but fuck it up.

But then, at 61 minutes, he remembers the gate rule, and gets upset when the Welsh guy loses his shit
Bro this game is unreffable
-
Also, what funny to me, is because the darling of modern rugby discourse threw that pass, it's not forward
For all the reasons they used to rag on the SH for using
Remember "if it goes forward it's forward"?
He threw that forward out of the hands, it was forward
-
Was a fairly boring match. Actually dozed off at 70 minutes. Wales forgot to look at the best by date when reappointing gatland.
-
Felt a bit like the England game, players go out hard at the beginning, following instructions, but just lose the thread and end up chucking the ball around behind the gain line hoping that an individual does something special and it just doesn't work against good sides.

As long as you're not having a go at Jordan Way, all good.

France finding new ways to protect their quarterback.
As I commented on the video, I was screaming at the TV every time it happened
Take contact and force the officials to make a ruling
-
@MiketheSnow it's offside obstruction, refs just need to nut up and call it.
-
I have personally reckoned that any team using the pod system are illegal 5/10 times. France seem to be pushing it, and I put it down to how game has changed. Just know when I played you tried to never have a team mate with the ball behind you as you would get pinged for offside. I did think some of the French ones were extreme, even for whats allowed these days.

Yeah I commented too, Welsh player runs into one of those players it is obstruction and they get pinged. Naive by the Welsh, run in hard with and fall with flailing arms and over the top calling it to ref.

Ireland dined out on it for years during their recent golden age. Players ahead of ball carriers all over the place masquerading as bodies in motion.
It’s no wonder a geriatric sexton had an arm chair ride in his latter years.
He was basically walking around out there.

Yep we weren't adverse to using it either, don't know any team that was. Though some seemed to overdo it I agree.
