Carter could be in line for a special season. He looked very good on the wing.

The utility value of him and Fineanganofo would make them brilliant bench men at a higher level if they carry on as they started....

The battle of the Allblack 10's.........as they both wear the 15 jersey.

Great prep for running the cutter at international level.

Looked to me like his arm was in touch before the ball was grounded. It was tight, but no try was the right decision.

Yep, I thought it was quite clear he was in touch.

Seems Blues selection was light on locks. McWhannell off Vaa’i on was somewhat of a sliding door moment.

I think McWhannel has a huge upside, is a large body, if he can get an extended run he could be someone for higher honours.

Reckon if Ioane and Sotutu were there blues by 50.

Chiefs raw physicality of bench and changing the halves made the difference. Finau looked awfully naive at international level in 2024 but there’s no denying he’s a unit.

    Another enjoyable game.

That passage of play sums up the game

    Chiefs far superior

Vern ball ain't gonna work this season

Hopefully, when they're not playing the Chiefs of course, he adjusts his plan, unlike the sister Auckland team the Warriors who persisted with Webbyball after it stopped working, and it looks like he's doing the same this year too.

Both of Ratima's knees were on the ground when he connected with Tele'a in the field of play therefore its a penalty try. You must be on your feet to tackle or attempt to play the ball and he stopped a certain try off his feet.

13.3 A player on the ground in the field of play, without the ball is out of the game and must:

    a. Allow opponents who are not on the ground to play or gain possession of the ball.
    Sanction:Penalty.

    b. Not play the ball.
    Sanction:Penalty.

    c. Not tackle or attempt to tackle an opponent.
    Sanction:Penalty.

McMillan will have a big decision to make once Stevenson returns.

Carter's ability to go into halfback from rucks and snipe is such a weapon.

Ratima with the covering tackle of the season. The end on camera angle showed how much ground he covered.

I thought that Murphy was soft with his use of cards after multiple warnings.

The Chiefs forwards have put on some weight in the off-season, a consequence of being bullied up front in the final. They certainly won more collisions in this game.

A player who I thought would never amount to anything and was getting charity AB caps.

    Now undroppable.
