All Blacks 2025

@mariner4life Tavatavanawai has consistency over a long period of time wherever he goes, was Moana and the Mako$ best player, has been the landers mvp the past 18months. If Robertson prefers to keep Havili over him so be it. I'm sure Mick Byrne's ears will perk up

you overly excitable highlanders blokes need to pump the brakes a little bit. jagging a couple of wins in cricket season against the dumbest Blues performance this decade, and scraping home over MP does not suddenly elevate your players to higher honours.
When the Chiefs sucked did you see our fans trying to make calls for Callum Bruce and Loki Crichton to make the ABs? No, you did not.
LOL.

Loki Crichton
Man this is a 2025 All Blacks discussion not a GOAT discussion.

@Landers92 have recently been told a conversation went very well between Ryan and Hoskins, maybe the grudge has been finally buried., they both seem on the same page finally, , he has finally attended couple Blues games., that's it,
-
@george33 good news but has that got anything to do with @Landers92 post?
-
This thread could get interesting.....
-
@Kiwiwomble does it really matter, just announced it, move on.,
-
@Kiwiwomble sorry, didn't realize that I tagged him, my apologies.

Interesting, always good to hear info.

Is there any official line on All Black rest requirements this year? Quite varied between teams and some players being played for maximum minutes.
Could make a real difference at pointy end of the competition if enforced. Or do the extra byes and injury complications just leave coaches open to do what they want to? -

Well, he's definitely meeting the selection criteria that was set last year - he's playing for a team that's not exactly setting the world on fire.

From Herald article
That is the disappearance – or maybe more accurately, “rescoping” – of the dreaded All Blacks rest weeks. These enforced breaks have plagued the competition for nearly 20 years, ever since the dreaded rest-and-rotation debacle of 2007.
The competition has been hamstrung by having top talent sit out the best matches because of varying rules – not being able to play five matches in a row or needing to rest for two games per season were a couple of the different variations.
Hard-and-fast rules have gone out the window; now the approach is more focused on individuals, recognising that a one-size-fits all approach hardly works in rugby. -

You're right, instead we got mainstays like Latimer and de Malmanche.

The conversation around incumbents v uncapped is that the uncapped player has to be clearly better. If they are as good, then the incumbent stays
The incumbent needs to demonstrate the ability at test level.
Let's take Havili.
Havili was rocks and diamonds vs Chiefs but those frailties haven't been exposed by the other teams
It's no wonder when you look at those other teams Crusaders have played
- understrength Canes midfield
- understrength Reds 10-12
- understrength Force
- deadshit 2025 Blues
Carving up vs the above teams tells us exactly what in relation to Havili at test level? Fuck all
