@Tim i just think with youngers hookers it takes a bit of time , we have seen this with Amua what i do know if you are smaller hooker you really do have to be some special , both Amua and Bason come into the wrecking ball when carrying list
I know one of the things that kept Kurt Eklund out of rep rugby for so long was his inability at lineout throwing time debuted for Auckland at 25 or 26 if i recall
Was outstanding in all the other areas for Varsity in younger years

@Steven-Harris it isnt like throwing to a lineout hasnt been an issue in NZ rugby since, well, forever!

Sure we have had those that can, but I think for decades now we havent been that great.
