There was an article that briefly mentioned the sky viewership. Apparently it was up 15% this year
but people are turning away from the game and not bothering to watch
'Unions gay, League's way better'?

@African-Monkey played golf with a work colleague on Saturday and he rushes off to watch the Wahs, I get home, no rugby so decide to have a watch for the 2nd time this season...15 mins.
Probably not a good match to try and reignite watching league (I think everytime I do they shit the bed...)
Sorry Wahs fans.

Aside from using that stupid name you have nothing to be sorry about, they broke last weekend.
Also, on Planet Rugby someone posted a Cully article where he was claiming that there were less viewers this year than last year, but the final had the most viewers in 10 years. There was also some confusing stuff about digital viewership that didn't make sense. I had to check it wasn't a Gregor Paul article. I'll see if I can find it.

@Nepia this one?
Might be reading it wrong but they mention an increase in attendance despite a reduction in games - but don't factor in a reduction of games when talking about total TV viewership.
That is similar but slightly different, I may have seen a non updated version, I definitely don't remember reading the discussion about the decrease in the number of games.

Not surprising, I felt Super Rugby this year was the best we've seen for about 10 years.

Here's the other article from Cully. Fuck me they're two poorly written articles. In one part he compares viewership of TV and digital with only TV.
If Gregor Paul wrote these I wouldn't have been surprised as he is generally anti NZ rugby.

A bit weak compared to a competition like the Top 14, apparently, they had 5 million people tune into the final alone.

The size of europe compared to the size of New Zealand
You can't really compare the twoFair.

Can someone explain those to me (I think I'm not reading them correctly), in the first one it says there were 2m viewers on Sky and Open yet there were 700k for the final alone. So the 1.3m are divided up between all other games?
There is probably an easy explanation for this and I'm going to feel like an imbecile when it gets explained to me.

....i mean.....i understand it.....but would like to hear how other people explain it.......
edit:.....16 rounds....5 games per round is 80 games?....divided by 2M is only 25k per game......that doesnt feel right
