Glad to see Southee in for Ferguson. Choosing to bowl first is interesting. Haven't seen the conditions but batting first is the norm in Canberra. From memory, it is a big ground and the pitch is generally a bit slow.

I think it's due to a bit of rain, and hoping for some swing. Not silly with Southee about - roll them for a hundy and done in a couple if hours 🙂

You get the feeling Williamson captaincy needs some work - a bit like McCullum when he took over the role. At this stage the decision to bowl does not look a good one.

Fuck. This is like all those times touring sides turn up to the 'gabba for the first test of the year, see a bit of green, and bowl first. Queue Aus scoring 560/6 declared.

46/0 after less than 9 is about as bad as it gets when you decide to bowl first.

He did get a few things wrong in game 1. Hopefully he learns from that. Interesting that he has gone with Santner early. I suppose Southee is trusted to bowl at the death.

They don't play a lot of Int'l ODI's at Manuka, but the three they have the OZ openers have got off to flyers.

And Santner bowls Finch behind his legs - that's more like it!

Sounds like some average fielding from the Black Caps again - not a good look. Usually an area they can rely on.

We have 25 overs left to bowl and, if every one else bowls out, 8 of them are going to have to come from Neesham/ de Grandhomme.

Short of a length outside off is kind of asking Warner to smash it
