Beaudie's technique at chip kicking is wonderful - it aint luck it bounces up like that.

@KiwiMurph another player who always seemed to get the right bounce, Goldie.

BB sizes up the opportunity well and a well-weighted chip is seized on by Aso who scampers 20 metres to score!
BB adds the extras 14=6 Canes

Rebels still able to make those cheap metres through the middle of the ruck too easily

BB had his kick charged from the last conversion attempt however we don't have to wait long for the next score as nice interplay between TJ and Aso sees Aso with a brace! Pretty sweet stuff. TJ definitely brings the spark. BB can't convert, but the two halves working nicely in tandem will be lethal this season. Canes with 4 tries and a BP already 24-6 Canes

Nisbo in midseason form already...confusing Rebels no. 8 Mafi with Rebels winger Koroibete.

    Aso having a blinder.

TJP looking incredible. I reckon you have to take him over Smith on this form.

Wow Aso is on fire today - a beautiful out the back door pass to Proctor and the Canes are in again!
    BB conversion successful! 31-6 Canes

Was just coming on to say the same thing, good we have two choices there now. He's improved so much.

You'd think being 2m tall would be a disadvantage for an open side but Ardie makes it work .
    Great to see NMS back

Admittedly the Rebels defence is poor but the canes look very good. So much pace in the halves. Would definitely take TJP over Smith at present. His signature must be a NZRFU priority! Nice to see the hot stepper back too.

    He's fine, but clearly third.

On the form of end of year tour and week 1 it could be argued Smith is 3rd.
