Midfielders i would rate in the national pecking order ahead of Buckman:
Ioane, Moala, SBW
ALB
Both starting Canes
Crotty.So i guess he's only half a dozen injuries from a call up

@mariner4life I'd scratch Moala and both Canes from that list. SBW still has to prove he can still play at this level too, after his year at 7s and his serious injuries.
Besides, this is only Buckman's 2nd Super Rugby game since the final that the Highlanders won in 2015. Inbetween he has only played in Japan.
If he reaches his 2015 level, he'll be right there in the mix.
