@mariner4life Having a competent governing body and a massive tv deal helps. Not even soccer would be able to pull that off.

Add to that Cricket Australia's big pay offer to women cricketers and every other sporting body is starting to look very shoddy.

@mariner4life They don't have the strength. But they'll get better skills with the cash.

Walked past the oval where Melbourne s ladies AFL team were training a few weeks ago ,
Never really put any thought into it , but was surprised how little they are , and how young they looked when you see them in person , looked like a bunch of little School girls running around .

Never been a fan of that defensive style crap that Sydney have played, but Buddy is putting on a show in this second half.

Swans down by 5 goals and now up by 3 points.

There used to be a joke about Richmond supporters safely booking their holidays for September , can't remember exactly how it went

Hawks look done , Robbo made a big statement on afl 360 the other night ,

Said you can almost sense panic within the club , they know they are sliding and they are desperately trying to hang on .

The Hawks will be worried i think. Their ball movement was all done by Mitchell and Lewis, and they haven't been replaced. And they gambled everything on O'Meara and Mitchell working out, because they have traded away their draft picks. If this goes tits up, they could be the next Lions, rather than the next Sydney/Geelong.

Speaking of the Lions, considering we have beaten the Suns, and put in a good fight against the Bombers, i don't think we are the worst team in the comp. Surely the Suns would take that mantle, although Carlton and Freo are pushing them hard for the spoon (surely Fyfe will leave Freo now).

Almost every year there are surprises ,

thats why I only read so much into the form from the year before ,

Brisbane and Carlton are both capable of winning more games than last year,

Freo to be the big slider IMO , the talk is Ross Lyon has lost the players and their fans are getting restless , the knives are out

Swans go 0-3 , no one saw that coming ,

I'm off to the G today to watch the tiges play the eagles , can the tigers go 3-0 , and then the hype starts to build prematurely as it only can at Richmond , or will they come crashing back down ...... fun and games

Sometimes the poor execution is as much about the oppositions pressureas it is your own skills ,

Their seems to be more games looking like that now than there ever used to be , I don't think the skills have gone downhill but their time to get rid of it is a lot less now than it ever has been , add to that the modern trend is about playing on quickly to try and get past the press into open space .

They seem to be prepared to roll the dice to achieve that

The hawthorn model of precision passing , steady as she goes , keeping the ball away from the opposition Is yesterday's news .

Now , it's more about moving it on quickly , to try and find room to go rather than getting bogged down in limited space.
The bulldogs are leading the way and the rest are trying to follow

Freo up by 10 points with 8 minutes to go. Boil over on the cards.

Crows now up 2 goals against Port.
