Cane and BBBR were immense. I gave my 3rd vote to Aaron Smith, his service was excellent all night. TJP having a meltdown may have influenced that call, I think we would have been better off with Smith for 80 minutes.

    Moody, Cane and Laumape.

Because I'm sick of voting for 4 and 5. One of the most noticeable tests I've seen Moody play, Cane was brutal and Laumape was shat on from a great height on his debut yet gobbled it all up, yum yum.

Gave Rettalick and Cane the nod.

Gave Barrett the third. Thought he played well in general play and took the best options available. None seemed to pan out. And unlike a guy like Ioane he had make 45 decisions instead of 3. So obviously the spotlight goes on him.

His class was made obvious when's Cruden went to first five.

I'm astounded Aaron Smith only has 3 votes. His organisation, passing and kicking was on point last night. He totally out-kicked the vaunted Murray.

I'm just going to not count any votes for SBW, I think.

Unless it is for the Lions player of the day!

    He was good.

Most people were really good - I had to go with the tight five, who did more than their jobs.

Disclaimer: I have no neck. I'm not ashamed of this.

@mariner4life he was excellent, and is probably just about everybody's 4th vote - but when 7 forwards have to play 8 all day, those blokes are getting the votes.

I think Aaron Smith can go unnoticed a lot because his strength is his passing but that is always good. So he doesn't really stand out when he does his core role well. Whereas a number 7 who wins a few turnovers or a winger who scores tries put in a more memorable performance.
