    First round started yesterday.

    Wellington v Auckland, Basin Reserve.

Auckland 1st innings. all out for 62.
At one stage 12-7 and 21-8. Five players made ducks, two of them first ball.
Wellington debutant Ollie Newton took three wickets in his opening over which was also a maiden. His first delivery in first-class cricket also took a wicket - just the 7th NZ player to do so in first-class cricket.

Wellington 1st innings. At lunch today (day 2).
    407/0
    Michael Papps 243*
    Luke Woodcock 141*

Is the second highest opening partnership in NZ first-class history. Only the 428 by Peter Ingram and Jamie How, Central Districts v Wellington, 2009-2010 is ahead of it.

@number-10 that is insane. Anyone able to advise what the hell is going on down there? Did they change pitches between innings?

Sounds like they got the Blues to bat for them and the Warriors to bowl.

Woohoo. There's the breakthrough we needed right back in it. Game on!

Only another 7 quick wickets and we'll be behind by 400 runs.

    Yeah. FML.

3 down so quickly? The collapse is on! Could be on track for the biggest innings defeat in NZ cricket too...

Welly are in trouble could be all out for under 1000, and then with the Blues batting lineup opening with Parsons...again game on!

Duffy is being rested as well for the upcoming end of season tour and SBW is out due to ANZ sponsorship. Going to be a tough fight back.

A bit disappointed they didn't give Papps a crack at getting the top first class score ever by a NZer. Day 2 with 2 days to go. Give him an hour to see if he can do it.
