Is now when I tell you I was at the Wees and Foos gig??! Only moderately epic 🙂

Fark should have hooked up. I'm not a big fan of the Foo, but damn Dave Grohl is brilliant. Pity about the rain though. We were close to the front for Weezer and I didn't notice the rain or the cold. But as soon as we left the crowd I felt cold and soaked. We didn't stay to the end and unfortunately missed the duet with Rivers.

    Doh!

Ha ha I just got face blanked by the wife for saying I missed out on catching up with you fullas 🙂 Ruthless lol

We were in the West stand - just under cover with a really good view.

I love Weezer and was a solid Foo fan for the first three albums, and then singles and the odd extra from the rest of their stuff. They always have at least one song per album that froths me up. Grohl was a 100% GC, amped the crowd and paced the gig really well. The duo with Rivers was fucking cool. They were both fanboi'n out hardcore. It was beautiful.

Pissed off I missed that, but we were struggling out there. Didn't help that my mate who lives in Auckland was constantly plying us with ice cold beers. Irish coffee would have probably been more suitable.

I noticed that people were being treated for the cold in the medical tent. Remind me again why I live in Brisbane 🙂

Back and triceps today. Totally farked up the order for this programme. Should be legs, shoulders, crossfit, chest/biceps then back/triceps but started with chest. Oh the humanity. Anyway, back and triceps today. Not too bad.

    In Auckland in Summer.

Christ on a bike what a pussy generation we are.

As long as I caught 'Buddy Holly' I woulda been happy. Not a massive fan of the Weez. Grohl and the boys are a different story.

Just because it's summer doesn't mean it can't get cold. Auckland is still in NZ.

I lived in Norway for more than a decade so I'm hardly a lil bitch with regard to cold weather, but it was bloody cold. For those stupid enough not to wear any protection from the rain it would have been absolutely freezing. Kind of wish we had stand tickets but then again it was awesome to be so close to the stage.

    Monday: Legs. Nicely annihilated.

    Tuesday: shoulders. Hammered.

Gee I really followed up on that previous post. 9 days is slack arse.

    So

Monday: Legs. Am enjoying starting off the week with this. Don't hammer them nearly as much as some other posters but am a fan of drop sets on the leg extensions.

Tuesday: Shoulders. Very intensive. Shoulder press, front raises, side raises, Incline lifts, shrugs.

Wednesday: 10 laps with laps 3-7 with burpee pullups. Farked me up a bit that did.

Eating is ridiculously clean right now. Some variant of chicken breast and rice for most lunches and dinners.

This is the most sustained and focussed training I've had for a very long time. Regardless of workload (and there has been a shit load recently) I will sacrifice an hour of sleep rather than the morning workout. I think it makes a massive difference to my life. It also makes me a good role model for my kids who swim 4 times a week plus rugby. Why should they put in the hard work if their old man just sits on the sofa with beer resting on gut. I just despair to think that I'm training 3 times as hard at 39 than I was at 19. Ah well, better late than never.

@rancid-schnitzel Good stuff mate absolutely smashing it! I know what you mean about the sleep sacrifice, I know an hour exercise does way more for my mood and energy over a full day than an hours sleep.

Without doubt mate. That is non-negotiable these days. That extra hour of sleep won't make a difference to your day, but a workout definitely will. Have to try to get to bed earlier though. I often work a couple of hours after the kids are in bed and then stupidly watch Netflix. A ridiculously long doco about (of all bloody things) Twisted Sister, has been keeping me up way too late. How utterly ridiculous is that.

So Thursday: Chest and biceps. Bit of a rush job so not very happy. This should be best day. Took an age to get son out of bed for swimming training. Seriously, teenagers are worse than farking toddlers, particularly when tired. Every goddam day is a battle.

Friday: Back and triceps. Not bad but wasted a bit of intensity talking to a guy who sells cars. This guy looks like he's in his 30s but is actually 52. Weight training isn't the fountain of youth but I think there is some truth to the claims that it keeps you looking younger for longer. I've never seen a serious older lifter look his age. Definitely something to think about.

Saturday was free but busy. It's amazing how many steps you can get from just work around the house and going shopping.

Sunday: burpee pullup dip run in morning. Swimming planned for pm but farking car wouldn't start. Damn that pissed me off.

    Monday: Legs. Nice and wobbly.
Tuesday: shoulders. This was a great session. Smack bang on point.
Wednesday: pissing down with rain but that won't stop ME! Burpee pullup run. Wasn't particularly pleasant but felt good.

Thursday: Had way too much on and very reluctantly had to stay away from gym. I would have had a chance later in the evening but can't leave the boys home alone. Felt like shit the entire day and my body was not happy with me at all. I guess that is a positive response in some ways. Would be worse if I didn't give a shit.

Today: good chest and biceps session. Very nice.

Have to catch up back and tris tomorrow. I'm also going to attempt one of those burger eating challenges. Given that's treat meal time I think I might be in with a shot, particularly if I forgo morning tea.

On those poor time days could you hit 10min of push ups or a few planks or something? ha ha I never manage to do it myself but a bit of body weight work is still mahi bro! Go hard on that burger challenge - easy on the liquid washing it down and don't they always have a massive bun (giggity) and chips too - sneaky fuckers!

Yeah mate could have done something. Can always do something.

Yep no drinking. Eight paddies and a heap of fries. Pity it isn't a nacho eating challenge. I'd kill anyone at that. Cornchips are my kryptonite.

Burger challenge was disgusting. Wasn't enjoyable in the slightest when you had to do it in 15 minutes. The burger had 5 (not 8)paddies, but was still enormous and then there was a mountain of fries. Just managed to eat the burger but the fries were impossible. Won't be eating another burger for a while.

Had done back and tris that morning so shelved the burpee pullup run on Sunday. Swimming i the afternoon was a bugger. Completely wrecked. 12 year old son now kicks my arse in all strokes. Thought I still had him in freestyle, but the bugger pulled up along side me and wouldnt go away. For some reason I farking started laughing and swallowing water. Then he flew past me. Feel like a donkey who has somehow managed to father a beautiful racehorse.

    Monday: Legs. Good session.
Tuesday: Shoulders. Glad I had this start to day. Got home and eldest had managed to break his thumb walking through a doorway. Give me farking strength.
