Amazingly when a team hardly ever beats NZ opposition, the Blues were heavily backed with only 4 of 43 going for the Chiefs. Similarly only 7/43 picked the Reds. Consequently nobody at all has 2/2 so far and many have 0/2. Best on 12 points are Mikedogz, Virgil, Phooey, Winger, Paj, Bones and Richie.

    BOP Chiefs 7 - 7 Hurricanes Black
    Blues A 5 - 6 Barbarians
    Blues B 3 - 4 SunJags
    South Island 4 - 6 Hurricanes Gold

Disappointingly all the new tippers failed to tip in the 2nd week. If you know who they are, can you drop them a line as I can't find a matching user on TSF.

Well this is getting embarrassing. I top scored again and my lead is now 22 - what are the rest of you doing?

With the draw in South Africa, there were only 6 counting games and only myself, No Quarter, Winger and Bones picked 5 of them. A fair few only managed 3 and margins were hard to come by.

A few missing tippers this week, Broughie, Cactus Jack and Bones - I've sent them messages here.

2/2 results not a problem for most but generally conservative on the margins so not many 10 point scores. Leading on 15/20 so far this week are KP, Tim, JK, No Quarter, Winger and Hydro11.

    BOP Chiefs 10 - 11 Barbarians
    Blues A 14 - 10 SunJags
    Blues B 12 - 11 South Island
    Hurricanes Gold 12 - 9 Hurricanes Black

Well Bones and Broughie came through with late tips, Bones to reach respectability - Broughie not so much but still not the lowest of the weekend. Leading all scorers this week was TR with 54, 3 ahead of Hurrycanes with Bruce Kenyon the only other to reach 50 - he is the only one with 2 scores of 50 or more despite not tipping Week 2! Joining these 3 with 6/7 results picked were Paj and ACT Crusader who were not so successful with the margins. Outstandingly poor tipping from Unite with only 14 points, only the Highlanders and Sharks picked correctly and no margins. Joan and Mary made even worse picks but avoided the week's wooden spoon by getting the Sharks as top scorers.

3 games went against the TSF choice (Hurricanes, Blues & Jaguares) and if you missed all 3, this week was a struggle.

On the category picks, the majority picked the Sharks to top score but Phooey was the only one to pick the Brumbies and get the maximum 10.

I'm still leading overall, by 17 from TR who is 6 ahead of No Quarter with another 4 players tied for 4th, 5 points behind him.

The Barbarians remain the only undefeated team after squeezing past the BOP Chiefs, consistency the key as the Chiefs had to take Hooroo's 30 and Mikedogz's 31 because of Unite's disaster. Blues A thrashed the SunJags on the back of TR's star turn and solidity from the rest - the SunJags team let down Bruce Kenyon and Barbarian badly.

South Island had their first win, downing Blue B with Corkscrew and ACT Crusader their best - only DK passed 40 for Blues B. Finally their was a high-scoring draw between the 2 Canes sides, No Quarter the best for Gold and Hurrycanes and Paj for Black.

The ladder is still very tight, every team has won at least 1 game and Blues A lead on points scored.

seems the BLues managed to fool quite a few of us...or was it the Lions that have everyone fooled?

Apologies, was processing the scores and accidentally set a narrow away win as a narrow home win meaning we all scored way too many! Will have to revisit and start again tonight.

From an initial look, Chiefs picks were good, a few missed out by going for the Crusaders, more by going for the Sharks and even more by going for the Blues. Nobody picked the closeness of the Lions win, only Donsteppa and Waynes World went for the Reds and a lot bombed out by picking the Rebels. Pretty poor picking of top and lowest scorers as well - it's a low scoring week!

Right scoring all sorted so here we go.

Gunner led all scoring this week picking 6/7 for a total of 45 points. Rico was the only other to 6/7 and he was level with Smudge 3 points behind with Skudderstep the only other player to reach 40.

Fiamacho is the new leader of the "lowest score while tipping every game" list with just 12 points - he only picked the Highlanders and Lions to win. Victor went low with 16 and there were a fair few under 25.

Overall, I'm still out in front, 22 ahead of TR who is 10 ahead of Rico in 3rd. Paj moved into the top 10 and Smudge, Virgil and Gunner rose into the top 20.

Close matches all round with wins for the unbeaten Barbarians, South Island, Blues B and BOP Chiefs. The Canes teams both lost to tumble out of the top 4.

Only 6 matches next weekend so 2 more of those terrible category picks - closest game and team to kick most penalties.

    Gunner 45
    Rico#1 42
    Smudge 42
    Skudderstep 40

I have a new strategy. I figure if I don't pick and get 5 less than the worst I'll probably be better off than if I tip

I'm open to creative ideas of what to ask when there aren't 7 games in the weekend. Most brainfarts would be a good one although a little subjective in the measuring!

It's been an easy week for picking the winner so far with just one game left. The game with the largest percentage of losers was Canes v Highlanders where 15% picked the men from the south. So being 5/5 is unremarkable as most of us are. Those with the best margin picks are

    Winger 42
    Fiamacho 39
    No Quarter 39
    Stockcar86 39
    Victor 39

The scores could change a lot on the category picks and the Chiefs were a popular choice for top scorers and a few combined this with the Sunwolves for lowest scorers.

Blues A, Canes Gold and Canes Black have all 5 scoring players with 5/5 so far.

    BOP Chiefs 31 - 25 South Island
    Blues A 35 - 32 Blues B
    Hurricanes Black 35 - 35 Barbarians
    Hurricanes Gold 37 - 31 SunJags
