Don’t worry Roy Sergio, they’ll still be talking about your 13 forever! It was legendary. Now let’s go to the Waffle House.

Speith with 5 birdies in a row (masters record I believe) then a HORROR drive down 18. Recovery shot back to the fairway and then fires one in to the crowd

I dunno, should the course be punishing shots that land right near the pin like his did?

If he's putting that much back spin on them, sure. A good golfer knows to have his ball finish near the flag, not just land there.

Yeah you feel for Sergio, but then again why did he keep hitting the same fucking shot?

Surely after the first three you aim for the fatter part of the green (on the left) and take the hazard out of play? Or you take your drop much closer to the hazard so you remove the chance of the ball spinning back?

My approach would be simple. After I dunked the first three balls in the hazard, I'd pick up my bag, throw it in the water and head for the bar.

Having Spieth in front again sets up a fascinating last few days.

Has he slayed the demons of 2016? Of his last four approach shots to 12 on Sunday, he's hit three in the water.

Even if he has a 15 shot lead, you know he'll be sweating when he stands on that tee...

I hope Tiger gets in contention or misses the cut - if he's lurking many shots off the lead they will still show every shot he plays and start frothing when he hits a good one.

Some guy called Harry Ellis saving Sergio from the ultimate Hero to Zero - though he can make things marginally better with a birdie at 18.

And it is the worst case scenario - still he'll be going out early in Round 3 so should be out of the way by the time the leaders are on.

Love the Masters for the way that the Leader board is so unpredictable. Not many courses where players can make birdies rapidly and lose shots rapidly as well - the same player can feasibly shoot a 71 with an eagle, 5 birdies, a bogey, double bogey and triple bogey.

Lots of big guns close by this time, a whole bunch of Major winners nestling behind the 2 leaders.

And possibly the most unpopular player in the world of golf takes his first major - rejoice!

Reed by a shot from Fowler by a shot from Spieth. Spieth with the final day surge but dropped a shot at the last for a 64. Rory fizzed again.

    Reed = Green Jacket Potato

Sort of a let down day wasn't it? Speith making a huge charge, and then Fowler having a crack sort of gave it something. But Rory falling in a heap left fat boy not having to do anything but hang on. The whole tournament seems a bit of a fizzer.

I like it that a pie man can win the Masters! I wonder what his victory meal will be? Pies and a couple of pints I imagine

Yep, the final day didn't really live up to the promise of the earlier days when so many big guns were in the mix. Rory, Stenson etc had poor days when they needed to be making birdies and Spieth really threw it away after his first round 66, leaving himself too much to do.

I wonder if Rickie Fowler is a glass half full or half empty guy?

Glass half empty - beaten by a pie man. Didn't get a green jacket or Cup. Lost $800K by one stroke. FHL.

Glass half full - beat everyone else. Won $1.2 million. Allison Stokke.

I'm guessing he's probably glass half full! 🙂

Patrick Reed seems like a really odd bloke. This article about his family is quite revealing.

'My son is a Masters champion': Patrick Reed's estranged family endures a complex mix of emotions

Patrick Reed is a lone wolf on Tour with a complicated past. As he was on his way to winning the Masters Sunday night, his parents, sister and their family and friends were watching on TV just miles down the road at home.
