I watched the swimming live in Duke, they played it on delay on TV1. Pascoe did mention in her interview after the heats that she was finding it really hot. That is the risk in an outdoor pool I suppose

I've had the pleasure of meeting her and concur, even hotter IRL. She is some athelete, unbelievably toned. Her training regime in the lead up to these events is fucking nuts, it's little wonder she does so well.

Alana Barber takes silver in the women's walk. Was comfortably in bronze position for most of the race, then the Aussie got DQ so moved up to silver.

Was watching the race until I went out.

She led from the start but then got overtaken.

When I left she was a distant third (more than two minutes) behind the two Australians.

Don't know what it is about the Black Sticks women, but fuck me days they really do save some rubbish performances for the top tournaments. Just drew 0-0 with Canada. NZ are ranked 4th in the world. Canada 21st.

It does seem that they just want to find an All Black to marry. Hockey is a means to an end but at least they have a goal.
