@kirwan until he makes the line he is out of play. Still 5m quicker than the rest of the pack.

Are you seriously defending a player turning his back 5metres from the line? He cost 5points doing that, the Canes ran straight at him because he had his back turned.

    Deserved to be subbed.

Games come alive now. Backline for the Canes is in play now that Christie is off. A shockingly bad halfback.

I told @Tim weeks ago that if he was going to have Christie in his AB halfback poll then in fairness he had to have Billy Guyton as well.

But, did he listen? Stubborn fucker! 🙂

He was poor too, wasn’t closest though.

@kirwan look at the replay. They couldn’t run at the other players because they were still 5 metres in front of the line. If you are going to criticise then do so without your blindfolds on.

Ironic post of the year. Northland player I take it?

@kirwan happy to stick up for a Northland player when the criticism is as one eyed as yours is.

@stargazer Yeah ok we know you love your Hawkes Bay/Crusaders but no need to talk rubbish like that (not saying that Evans is a bad player).

@kirwan Evans has been brilliant all season, and clearly much better in this game than Akira. Akira is just a big lump who's going hot and cold, but mostly cold in this game.

    ha ha ha ha ha.

Genuine question: if Akira played in the Canes pack, with the Canes coach, and Evans played for the Blues, do you think you'd still pick Evans?

In other news, there are 5 left and Canes lead 31-15.

Blues have been better tonight but haven’t really looked in it after TJP cane on.

and also, since we're plaing that game: Beauden's an overrated 10

The Blues looked promising. Hopefully they can put it all together next week vs the Saders 😉

The quicker ball for the Canes has nothing to do with an improved cleanout and everything to do with TJP. This game has really highlighted how far off the pace Christie is this year.
