Let's try again...

Nice one mate!

Have you seen the spartacus workouts? Circuits of 10 exercises for 1 min each and all stuff you can do with limited weights at home etc. A couple of my mates ave been doing them and have cut up well on them. Might give them a go myself.
-

I've been adding a 50m run in between sets at the moment, starting with legs and the run in between is a killer which makes the whole workout tough!

-

Argh fuck - at karate last night I started to feel a bit of the tickle in the back of the throat and sure enough, today I woke up feeling like shit. Sinus pain, headache, general lethargy, and runny nose. Fucking kids brought it home from school I think.

Hopefully today at home will help set it right, but means no running probably until Friday at the earliest, and maybe not even then.
-

yeah bro, take it easy on the cardio if you have a flu/cold. Reckon you can still sneak some light weights in but cardio ain't a good match for that sort of illness. Your event is coming up soon though isn't it??

-

my tried and true (for me) way to avoid illness is when I feel the slightest hint of anything coming, I ensure I get through at least 3L of water (usually 4L) I have had 1 sick day in the past 5 years...

Yeah the prep can be a bit of a hassle, but I'd never trade in the yolk. One of the spartan/paleo type diets I was reading said that if there is enough stuff in an egg to create life, why throw part of it away?

I do miss proper eggs though, like we had on the farm as kids. Same as the lamb you get from the butcher - tastes a bit bland when you're used to the stuff that eats your own grass

Anyway, enough reminiscing. Feeling better after shaking the worst of the cold and associated gut problems. Weighed in back under 92kg this morning and had a pretty light eating day as I go through a mini detox.

Karate tonight. First exercise I've done in a week and it was fucking grouse. Bit of light kumite at the end (no gloves) which got the lungs blowing a bit. Might be time to start running again (Thursday) and have a crack at that Shift Weight routine I put on Kea's thread tomorrow.

Cat vomits x 10 and some meditation before bed. Feeling good again.

On Thursday, I hit the 2 year anniversary of serious weight loss. Final weigh in this cycle will therefore be Saturday.

Mate, thats a great quote re the egg yolk. I like it. Still 6 yolks is a bit over the top and that would be what im having in my morning protein and oats at the mo but instead just 180mil of egg whites. So easy.

And know what you are saying re proper eggs. Fortunately both my parents and my wife's parents have chickens so we get alot of eggs from them. The eggs are so much bigger and the yolks so much brighter than those from the supermarket.
