I incorporated sets of burpees into a workout I did week or 2 back, and man they are hard (especially as its been months since I last did them)

TR is correct, I use these mainly for the lungs/legs.....I figure I do enough other "pushing" type exercises but make sure I at least get off the ground every single rep....

First time trying burpees this way ie without the press up, and got 50 in 3:20. Puffing like a mofo!

First 25 I think was about 1:20 but I've honestly forgotten it was so many oxygen molecules ago.... Form was probably ordinary too, but I definitely got off the deck on the jumps

My advice ? don't actually stop, keep going whilst using all your intellectual ability to count, nothing else. That way you get your body fooled into not going "hey fluffybunny, I'm fucked, let's stop this ridiculous torture...."

Oh trust me, I didn't WANT to stop. I started well but as soon as I hit 16 I knew I was in trouble.

What is interesting is I coughed up some gunk which I haven't done for weeks with other exercise. So clearly it's good for that. Wonder how long it would take to do 100?

Yeah I'm keen to try and crack a hundy in a good time. The way I do them at the moment though I crack 50 in no time at all then after that even crawling up the stairs let alone ANOTHER FUCKEN BURPEE doesn't bear thinking about. Off the top of my head 3 minutes per 50 could be an aim but as I said above the moment I actually stopped for a couple of second that would be it for me......

I've done a hundy a number of times, but usually do 15-20 and then a 10-15 sec break before starting again, so I guess it was about 8 or 9 mins in total?? Or maybe 45 mins, not quite sure TBH....

Diligently smashing these out every weekday morning so essentially at the moment my cardio save for a few walks up the hill to the car every now and again takes less than 2 minutes each day. Best for 50 is 1:42 according to my not quite 100% reliable timer ( my crap cellphone ). They've gotta be good for me right ? getting up the fucken stairs afterwards is becoming marginally easier ( ie I crawl a tiny bit faster ).

Wicked. Wonder when the kids will reset your alarm for 2am so they can watch dad fling himself from bed into a frenzy of burpees - now that'd be a funny video!

Getting them into it, easier when you have less distance to travel up and down but their boredom always beats any staying power they have hahaha.
