Run this morning: 3km in 18:15 so getting closer to the first goal of maxing out at 6 minute / km.

Might need to increase distance to get some longer burn in the lungs and legs, but overall it's progress, despite only 5-6 hours of broken sleep.

Flag the longer runs. Go and do some 300-400m repeats that will give you some legs and recovery and a bit of kick. Don't start with shorter distance sprints aim for mid-distance high intensity. If you are running 6min+ sprinting will be overload and you will get a achilles tendon issue.

Went back to the GP tonight to get the blood test results from last week.

My "bad" cholesterol (LDL) is reading 5.0 when it should be under 2.5 so that's not great for circulation or potential artery clogging.

HDL ("good" cholesterol) is just on the good side of the preferred marker.

Other than that, no indicators of further disease in any organs, diabetes, or signs of immediate heart issues based on the tests conducted.

Eating will definitely need to improve, but I reckon by Winter's end I can get back under 100kg fairly easily with diet and moderate exercise.

Did my ab exercises tonight - 10 cat vomits. It fucking hurts just lying down typing this now.

Hey sorry got sick of scrolling up because im lazy. If you have a look into it there are actually 2 sub types of LDL one is good one is bad. Most Gp's have no idea about this. You have to request special testing. My GF and I went Keto a few years ago and got blood work done. Her HDL stayed the same LDL went up doctor said ' cut out fats' she said 'get fucked and give me a test to break down my LDL' .

Test showed good LDL had gone up bad LDL was really low. Doctor then said ' decrease your fats because ummmm....'

What are you on the beta blockers and cholestorol meds for?

This is somewhat interesting depending on your background knowledge https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/program/insight the two episodes on exercise.

Exercise (weights or cardio) vs diet vs meds for diabetes not much difference apart from diet +exercise can reverse it (judging by the beta blockers its probably not diabetes).

For the arterial blockage. Yes it's aggressive but I'm sticking with it until September when I plan to do another round of blood tests and prove I don't need either.

yeah 400m at a strong run > sprint then I like to have same time off for rest as it took me to sprint it. That way you can keep a more consistent 400m rather than it turning to a jog after your second one.

    Antipodean's patented five step scale:

    1. Can I engage in conversation?
    2. Can I utter sentences?
    3. Can I utter words?
    4. Can I motion for an ambulance?
    5. Dead.

The side effects of the drugs have hit me, with the insomnia and some mild (probably related) paranoia/depression popping up. Makes work and family life a bit shitty when I'm slightly manic all the time.

I'm going back to the doc today to tell him this stuff really isn't necessary as, thanks to my reformed eating and exercise, I'm going to be awesome.

Took the day off work to deal with this shit, and decided to go for a run - being conscious that I'm not putting a lot of recovery days in here, but stiff shit.

3km in 17:45 which reaches my first goal of 6 minute km or better. Booyah.

Also had a sneaky jump on the scales and the result is good. More when I officially weigh in on Saturday!

Dont stress about recovery days. You're not training for a tilt at the next olympics. You can safely run 5 - 10 K every day at a comfortable pace and your body will adapt fine.

    Keep it up!

Good video. Applicable for a number of disciplines.

I think it was Bruce Lee who said "I'd rather face a man who practised 10,000 punches 1 time, than a man who practiced 1 punch 10,000 times"

First 5km jog in a while. 32 minutes even with a couple of hydration stops in there. Feel ok actually and the aura wasn't that bad, so maybe that is my "training" slot for HR

Waking home now to weigh in...
