    @sammyc Yup, as I said "if there weren't any young bucks available". Clearly, there is a young buck available in Brodie McAlister, but we didn't know that at the time when Vella joined the Canes and Funnell got injured.

    Thanks, I did read your post.

    It’s pretty obvious he’s been next in line for a while for anyone that follows club rugby in Christchurch.

    Vella was never a long term option.

    @Stargazer If you are ever wondering whose next in line for the crusaders front row it’s worth checking the Sydenham team sheet in club rugby.

    Jason Ryan’s club and he seems to direct most of the promising young props and hookers there.

    Last weekends team had harry Allan, brighouse and Macalister. All future long term crusaders I think.

    Recent graduates have been Cody Taylor, Nepo Laulala and Siate Tokolahi

    @african-monkey

    Delane’s on the bench tomorrow. He’s being doing pretty well for a young guy.

    @wally Yeah he told me today he got the call up with Brighouse playing for the Crusaders. He impressed me when I watched you guys against New Brighton (a game you guys should have won) and a great guy as well.

    So same par score for the Cantabs that I gave the Canes? 50 points.

    Using the Tana Umaga Sunwolves last game of the season yardstick, this could be a bit of a disaster coming up.

    Hope not for Kaino’s sake. But with Tana putting the worlds best winger at 12 again, what has changed?

    There you go, too simple.

    0-5 to the Crusaders, kick to come.

    Lots of scrambling defence from the Blues, Crusaders finding space pretty much everywhere
