Love NFL coverage, they are always doing stocks up and down for players. Looking at ITM cup I see super players and new players who have risen and those whose stocks have fallen. Keen for everyone's Thoughts.

From games I have seen some names

    Stocks up

    Selby-Rickett - shows athleticism for a lock
Will Jordan -ABs fullback post Bender?
Koroi - at this level seems untouchable, next level???
Levi Aumua - not sure on d but devestating on attack
Lomax - is this why NZ rugby pursued him.
Tei Walden - looks like best 12 in comp
    Taminavalu - gone to early
    Josh Goodhue - impressed

    Stocks down
TJ Vaa - why has he got a super contract
Bryn Gatland - not nailing his chances of starting for Highlanders
Tamati Tua - signed to young

Maybe off the mark. Add to list as heaps more

@98blueandgold Tom Robinson has been the stand out for Northland in all 3 matches.

Harsh on TJ Va'a. He has literally played 20 mins of footy for the Lions since leaving college. He has just come back from a serious injury and you have already got him in the stocks are falling bracket after one appearance off the bench. Hard man to please.

@98blueandgold Stocks up 100% for Will Jordan. That kid is Cullen-esque. Can't wait untill he puts on the Black jumper. Wouldn't be suprised if him and A Aumua make the World Cup squad - they make men look like boys half the time..

Orbyn Leger for the stocks down column. He is NOT looking like a Super level player at all.
Beaudein Waaka showing he would be a good addition in a XVs team at the next level and that Sevens is not his peak.

Edit: Te Aihe Toma has looked the goods re-establishing himself back in NZ after a stalled overseas career at Munster (short term loan). Blues would probably be his target unless he goes back to Highlanders. Halfback is a tough gig to break into at the moment with ABs spread over 3 franchises and the Saders being very established as well.

    Cullen-Esque? Wow. Really?

I need to watch him more closely, because he just looks like a good young footballer to me.

I think I used the Cullen-esque term for Declan O'Donnell when he first appeared on the Sevens scene...…. 😉

Leger was being over-rated in SR so his stocks haven't fallen much.

Jordan needs to make the Crusaders 23 next year for a start FFS.

@shark it's more about looking at just the ITM. Of course players need to prove themselves st the next level. It's more about those who shld be shining st this level and are not, and those who are standing up to go to the next level.

Did you miss the post where he was already an AB?

@gt12 Haha I know he has a long way to go to be anywhere near Cullen. I was meaning more his gliding running style, reminds me of alot like Cully.

Jordan looks like a classy operator already though and I am not making any apologies in saying that he will be a long time All Black if he stays injury free.

Hence the reason I mentioned Leger. I know he isn't exactly top quality at Super but at the moment he is looking club level when he should be standing out and showing why he got a Super gig.

@Canes4life O'Donnell looked a sensible comparison at the start as well. Gliding runs from deep with a great swerve and step. His star didn't shine for long though.

    @canes4life

I like your positivity in selecting them so long out.

The last player I thought would be a long term AB on first watch was Messam, when I saw him play high school footy. Around that time (or a bit after) I also saw Conrad Smith for the NZ University team (I think it was) and thought he was the best natural center I'd seen play, but would never make it as he was skinny as fuck.

On ITM cup form so far, Papalii looks an AB for sure. Also, the young HB half back just jumps out as super talented (ahem, Chiefs?), and Thompson has been awesome. He's a good example of a player who I think would walk into most other overseas teams, but is stuck here. I wonder how far away he is...

Apart from that, Lomax looks worth further investment too. Might take time - look at Ta'avao.

He isn't looking flash, but it can't be easy playing in that extremely scrappy Counties team.

That doesn't excuse his skill lapses. Missed tackles and dropped balls are personal responsibility.
Maybe he is giving himself a wakeup call and will come right. I certainly hope so, but at the moment he is part of the 'scrappyness' himself.

Fakatava has looked impressive - we were discussing in the match thread how the Canes haven't locked him up yet so Cooper should get on then phone now.
