@Smudge I don't know what you know but it sounds as though this time the police didn't let anyone in the industry know there was going to be an investigation unlike the 'blue milkshake' quite a few years ago.

Funnily enough I rang my folks and couldn't get hold of them on mobile or landline. When I did finally get hold of Dennis, I did ask if he was talking from a prison cell 🙂

If found guilty I hope they are crippled financially.

Kudos to the police so far for doing what looks to be a thorough job.

I don't know a stack of a lot, but it's interesting the two races I've heard mentioned featured absolutely no mentions in the stipendiary stewards' reports about the questionable drives in that race - which suggests they were already suspicious of the drive, and opted not to make an issue of it at the time, instead playing the long game.

A few internet forums went spare at the time about the lack of action, but perhaps this explains why.

@smudge Wow! I didn't know that. Although that does mean the police did let some know there was an investigation

The end of the Herald commentary is pretty funny:

    [...]
“The irony is this: Orange and Dexter Dunn travelled to almost every race meeting they attended last season together. I spoke to them before, after and sometimes even during those meetings. They are, hand on heart, two of the worst tipsters I have ever met among the leading horsepeople and if your betting strategy was punting on what they thought was going to happen, you would go broke.”

They’ve also posted video of “Nelson race meet at the centre of harness racing race-fixing charges”:

Glad I heeded my dear old grandad's advice never to bet on anything with 2 wheels and 6 legs.

    Best advice that!!!!

Never been able to come to terms with some the shit that harness racing seems to bring up with often what seems certain horses being allowed to just pass with ease or run uncontested.

Hope that have solid evidence and those involved are held accountable
