@duluth Taranaki is one of the best in giving injury updates. I wish all teams included that info.

@tim Taina Fox-Matamua must be a late call-up (as injury cover) as he wasn't named in the 2018 squad.

Yeah Taina Fox Matamua's chaces at Auckland are pretty slim as he's well down the pecking order. Don't mind guys like this going out on loan as opposed to Sione Havili.

Leon's ploy of bringing firepower from the bench last week backfired, so this week he's starting the best available XV - with the possible exception of Fox-Matamua, who I know nothing about. Apart that he's apparently from Auckland. 🙂

Hopefully he is a big munter with some skills and nouse. A lot to hope for when we're down to about our sixth choice, but c'est la vie.

Fox-Matamua got man of the match in the Auckland club final. Be interesting to see how he goes with the step up.

Lots of errors - plenty by Ta$man from people overplaying their hands and pushing things too much.

Taranaki just dropping the ball stone cold.

Mako starting to get their act together as the half went on.

@tim Not bad. He's got a bit of power, so provided a bit of go forward at times - something that was a bit lacking last week.

Subbed quite early, but then back when Brown went for an HIA.

Ta$man scoring a few pretty soft tries as Taranaki fell off tackles. They're probably missing Colin Cooper?

That should be the tougher half of our season completed. Four Div 1 teams played plus Southland.

Three Div 2 teams to play in the second half - plus Wellington and Counties.

@african-monkey Taranaki is in a bit of difficulty as their final four matches are vs Canterbury, Auckland, Wellington and Harbour.

Dare I say it, Taranaki is missing MMac, Perofeta and TTT. The successful teams at this level need a good 9/10 axis to drive the team.

Parkinson was the standout player in this match. Great to see some young talented locks coming through.
